Bronny James, the 19-year-old son of NBA star LeBron James, is not one without his own set of difficulties. Once he chose to enter the world of basketball, it didn’t take long for him to be placed on a comparison scale alongside his father. When he failed to reach the same, or even a memorable standard, during his college basketball days, various fans and analysts reportedly stopped believing that he had a chance of establishing a worthwhile career in the NBA. Despite this, the young star continues to show that he is not one to lose hope. Furthermore, he isn’t afraid of highlighting that fact in front of others as well.
A few hours ago, Bronny James took to his official Instagram account to highlight a post for his 7.5 million followers. It featured a series of black and white/color photos of the 19-year-old, capturing his on-court moments during separate games. All of them portrayed him as someone who was committed to the game. Someone who wouldn’t let a sweaty face or tiredness stop his resilience. Overall, it captured who he really was: a basketball player. Bronny didn’t add anything in the caption of the post, with the exception of an ‘hourglass’ emoji.

It didn’t take long for the aspiring player’s social media post to catch people’s attention. One of the first individuals to react to it was Bronny’s parents, LeBron James and Savannah, themselves. The NBA player highlighted the post on his story to be viewed by his 159 million followers. Following the same process as his son, he added an emoji of a ‘crowned boy’, possibly passing on the ‘King James’ title to his kin. Savannah, who also added the post to her story, put out three silver hearts to honor her eldest.
Social Media Users share their opinion on Bronny James’ post

One fan quickly descended to praise the 19-year-old’s properly maintained facial hair by writing “The beard let’s goooo”. The reaction indicated that not many people would have expected Bronny to have gotten such a thing on his face so early on. In fact, it was only two years ago when people were photoshopping his images to make him look like a fully bearded individual.
Another individual highlighted his opinion that Bronny would find a good home during the NBA draft by writing “You’re a Laker”. After LeBron James expressed his wish to play alongside his son at least once before retirement, rumors have been swirling about the Los Angeles Lakers drafting Bronny retain his father.
One social media user was of the opinion that Bronny’s earlier stats should not be an indication of what he can do in the future. He wrote, “I can tell next season we are about to see a Bronny like we ain’t never seen before”. During his time at USC, the player secured an average score of 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 25 games. While it will be tougher for him to be better when competing alongside other NBA players, one should never say never.

Another person who came across the post revealed how LeBron’s son is even “Better than SGA”. This was a reference to Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, who has been leading the offensive effort for the Oklahoma City Thunder, and who barely missed out on winning the MVP title this season. To the NBA player’s credit, however, he averaged 14.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists during his college season.
Overall, the reaction of fans was positive in nature. It was a much-needed change from all the criticism Bronny had been facing over his decision to enter the NBA draft. Only time will tell whether the same perception remains in the long run.
