The 6’6 power forward for the Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green is optimistic about the upcoming NBA season. The Warriors arguably have one of the best rosters in the League and Green has a crucial role to play in that.
There exists a joke within the NBA world, that the players should leave for China if they fail to perform right. Green was subjected to trolls because of this in a video that recently surfaced.
The Chinese Connection

The Warriors made their stars feature in a video where he was speaking Chinese. The attempt was to gain attention from the Chinese fans who watch the NBA significantly. Little did Green and the Warriors know that it would straightaway make them subject to brutal trolls. Green stood beside a Chinese translator in the video and uttered something in Mandarin. He had a piece of paper in hand from which he was reading.

Fans reacting derisively to players engaging with the Chinese audience is nothing new. In a former incident dating back to 2018, Klay Thompson addressed the people of China in the best way possible. He danced, and had fun, without caring what people thought. He was named the ‘China Klay’ by the fans in a sarcastic manner. Green’s recent video made fans believe that he will be taunted occasionally the entire season if fails to perform.
