The Charlotte Hornets surprised several people by picking up Brandon Miller as the 2nd overall pick in the NBA Draft. To make matters worse he seemed to struggle in the Summer League. This further led the fanbase to believe that the youngster might just not be what they wished for. However, after just one full season, Miller has proved every doubter wrong! Well, he let his game do the talking as the 22-year-old racked up several accolades in his rookie year.
This includes three Rookie of the Month awards, NBA All-Rookie first-team honors, and plenty of memorable moments throughout the season. Guess the Hornets made the right decision after all, eh? Well, now in his sophomore year, he’s got plenty of support behind him. Moreover, he’s doing what he loves and getting paid for it. Brandon Miller has enjoyed quite an eventful rookie season and is now amidst a stellar sophomore season. A testament to this is his head coach Charles Lee being “Really proud of Brandon,“. As he further stated, “There’s been a ton of growth from Brandon… now that he’s the focal point of another team’s defense. Without some of our other offensive weapons, he’s had to take on a different type of load. He’s doing a really good job of just taking what the game gives him.” Said Lee in an interview with the NBA.

He certainly is doing a good job on the court but, he has also inked a lucrative contract off the court. Miller signed a four-year rookie scale contract with the Hornets. The deal is worth a massive $49.4 million over the four years! Furthermore, this sees the young forward earn an average salary of around $12.3 million. you might have one question: How much is Brandon Miller set to make for the 2024-25 season? Well, the Hornets star is going to earn $11.4 million for the current 2024-25 season.
That paycheck will increase to a staggering $12 million next season with his club option exercised. After this, he has another season with a club option. Following this, Miller will enter restricted free agency for the 2027-28 season. So far, Miller has amassed a hefty $22.3 million solely from his NBA paychecks! However, it’s safe to say that the sophomore guard is worth every penny for the Charlotte Hornets as he’s established his place in their starting lineup.

You bet! Miller put up his first big performance against Gonzaga scoring 36 points and six rebounds. Moreover, he had a stellar night against South Carolina dropping 41 points. Miller ended his freshman year, averaging 18.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and just over two assists per game. This was enough for him to earn the SEC Player of the Year honor, plus the SEC Rookie of the Year award, and a first-team All-Conference selection.

Following this, Miller decided it was time to make the jump. So, he declared for the 2023 NBA Draft alongside some pretty big names. Who? You might ask. Well, for starters the draft class included a certain Victor Wembanyama. Also, Scoot Henderson, Amen Thompson, and Ausar Thompson. Brandon was picked 2nd overall by the Hornets and the rest as we know is history.
