While others may claim the throne in different areas of the NBA, there’s only one true King when it comes to jaw-dropping shots from beyond the arc— Stephen Curry. It’s something established for over a decade now. A quality that has made him an icon for the next generation, changing the course of the game. However, when it came to facing off against his Warriors teammate, Curry couldn’t secure the win.
The revelation came from Brandin Podziemski, who found himself surrounded by the media before taking the court for the Rising Stars Challenge. One thing led to another, and soon the guard dropped a bombshell, “We haven’t scared up in a game of horse but every shoot around and pregame we do a half court competition and I’m up 18 to 17 right now.” Wait, what? Is that even feasible? Curry losing to the 21-year-old that too in one-on-one? Even the reporters were taken aback.
So, they asked Brandin what his go-to move is that guarantees his win. “I would say I win,” he revealed, making it look like the 36-year-old Curry is starting to fall behind.

In case you’re unaware of what the HORSE game is all about, it’s a basketball game with a twist. In this, the players take turns making shots from different spots on the court. But they need to add a trick before shooting. If the first player makes the shot, the next player must replicate it. On failing to do so, they get a letter in the order of HORSE. And whoever spells the word first loses.

So, as per Brandin’s confession, it’s him who holds the edge. Maybe the loss to a much younger player could overwhelm Curry, who hasn’t cracked the trick yet. But that wasn’t the only secret spilled, there were more to come still.
Stephen Curry might allegedly fail to keep up with Brandin Podziemski
As the Q&A session with Brandin continued, he was asked what one shot of his Stephen Curry couldn’t pull off. Although it was later mentioned that Curry can do anything, BP replied, “Probably the one I did last year.” He was referring to the incredible full-court shot he made before the Warriors vs. Pelicans game in January 2024. He even repeated a similar shot earlier today during the Rising Stars practice session.

The Warriors teammates could face off against each other very soon, under one condition, and maybe then we’ll see who can pull off more outstanding shots in the real game. We already know the 2025 NBA All-Star game format has changed this time. Instead of the East vs West showdown, there will be three games. The first semifinal rounds will be Team Chuck vs Team Kenny and Team Shaq vs the winner of the Rising Stars Championship. And the final between the winners. If Tim Hardaway Sr.’s team becomes the champions in the Rising Stars tournament, where BP is playing, we’ll get a glimpse of who truly gets the better of whom.
For now, sit back and enjoy the weekend as the stars will shine brighter for three back-to-back days, taking the experience to a whole new level and living up to its name. Which event are you most looking forward to? Share with us in the comments below!
