The NBA All-Star weekend may be a time for celebration, but Phoenix Suns point guard Bradley Beal finds himself under the surgeon’s knife instead of on the court. Injuries are unfortunately not new to Beal. After being hit in the face on January 27 by Myles Turner of the Indiana Pacers, Beal could be seen wearing a mask in the last 9 games played. Now it looks like Bradley made the most use of his downtime.
Even though there’s no timeline yet, Suns’ reporter Duane Rankin recently tweeted about Bradley Beal having gone through a procedure on his broken nose. The tweet also highlighted how a left hamstring injury sidelined him during the Suns’ game against the Sacramento Kings.

Picked up on his 19th birthday, Beal was drafted as the third overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft by the Washington Wizards and was traded to the Phoenix Suns on June 24, 2023, in exchange for a package that included four first-round pick swaps, six second-round picks, Landry Shamet, and Chris Paul.
This season has seen Beal battle multiple injuries. Preseason lower back tightness and nerve pain plagued him early on, delaying his Phoenix debut until November. Further setbacks included an ankle sprain in December and now, the broken nose and hamstring issue.

Despite these issues, Beal’s balling skills shine through. In his last game before the hamstring injury, he put up a stellar performance against the Utah Jazz, bagging 30 points, 7 assists, and 2 rebounds. This marked his third 30-point game of the season, demonstrating his offensive prowess when healthy. The veteran guard has been turning up of late, averaging 32.7 points on 57.8 percent shooting along with 4.0 triples, 5.3 assists, and 4.7 boards in the last 3 games he’s played.

While Coach Frank Vogel assures that the hamstring injury isn’t serious, it adds to the ongoing concern about Beal’s durability. With the Suns just above the play-in tournament zone, increasing playing time for their core trio, including Beal, Kevin Durant, and Booker, is crucial for building a playoff chemistry between them.
As per NBA.com, the trio has only shared the court for a combined 440 minutes over 22 games, ranking as the Suns’ 9th-most frequent three-man combination. Although their current record places them just one game above the play-in tournament zone, some may argue that it’s too early to feel any panic.
Will Beal be ready to suit up for the February 23rd showdown against the Dallas Mavericks? Stay tuned to find out!
