Anthony Davis and Floyd Mayweather: The ultimate sports bromance or just a publicity stunt?

What’s the connection between Anthony Davis and Floyd Mayweather? The 47-year-old boxer has been spotted several times on the VIP courtside seats, cheering for his favorite, which is still a mystery. Nevertheless, the Michigan native is at Lakers games quite often. This time, Mayweather invited Anthony Davis and Anthony Edwards to walk with him for the upcoming bout against John Gotti III.

With several hours left for the rematch at Mexico City, The Brow has already marked presence at the event. A video of AD taking a picture with a fan, wearing a printed shirt and black trousers surfaced on the internet. Whistle Sports, who shared the video on their X handle, claimed that the Laker had pulled up early to the fight.

Another viral video featured AD chilling with Floyd Mayweather inside the ring! He was goofing around throwing boxing poses at the camera.

It’s quite difficult to determine which NBA team Mayweather supports. As a friend of Isaiah Thomas, the star boxer cheered for the franchises whichever his buddy played for. At the same time, he had a special connection with Kobe Bryant, personally. But where doesn’t Anthony Davis fall in this equation?

Even though this doesn’t really showcase their bond, it showcases a return gesture to AD’s huge favor. Ahead of the inaugural edition of the In-season Tournament finals, Floyd Mayweather placed his bet on the Lakers and reportedly won $229,100. Ultimately, it was possible because of the big man’s herculean effort, dropping 40 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks to defeat the Pacers.
