The Boston Celtics held their ground without Kristaps Porzingis and Jaylen Brown in the game against the Utah Jazz. However, their next battle lies against the Phoenix Suns, potentially requiring the two starters in the lineup. The previous encounter with the Suns, days ago, saw Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal combining for 70 points. In turn, it demanded a Jayson Tatum and Brown to emerge victorious.

Now, as the two teams face off for the second time in a single week, it seems like the Celtics will need to strategize differently. As per the latest updates, Jaylen Brown is currently listed as questionable due to a left hip contusion. On the other hand, Kristaps Porzingis will remain seated since he is still recovering from a right hamstring strain.

Brown is in the middle of another crucial season, posting 22.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. Kristaps, in the middle of his first year with the Celtics, is posting 20.4 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists. Both Brown and Porzingis are crucial pieces in the Celtics’ dominant run, averaging over 50% efficiency from the floor.

The Celtics stand as the best team in the league, being the first team to touch the 50-win mark on the season. They are also 8-2 in their last 10 games. After the Suns, they will get back on the road, visiting the Washington Wizards. For the Suns, they will enter the game with a 5-5 record and a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Post the Celtics game, they will face the Charlotte Hornets.

Jaylen Brown’s stats vs the Suns

Since coming to the league, Jaylen Brown has averaged 17 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists through the 11 games he has played against the Suns. While it only touches the surface of his career overalls, he has managed to experience 8 wins out of those games.

Interestingly, Brown has collided with Kevin Durant only once after KD’s trade last season. Moreover, he has yet to face KD and Devin Booker together. Regardless, he records 6 wins against Book, averaging 15.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. However, Devin Booker tops Brown when it comes to individual performances. Throughout 8 battles, Booker averages 30.8 points, 4.9 assists, and 4.6 rebounds against Jaylen. The lowest scoring haul comes from Book’s 17 points in a 2017 matchup. Moreover, with multiple 30+ point eruptions, it also includes Devin’s humungous 70-point game, scored on a 51% clip.
