Think Stephen Curry is all Mr Goody Two-Shoes? Well, think again. Every one of us has done some things in the past that we weren’t totally proud of. Stephen Curry’s ‘things’ however, have come too close to breaking the law! Fortunately, they aren’t as scary as you would think. In fact, years later, the 4x NBA champion can even have a good laugh about the incident that would have left a black mark during his high school days.

Dude Perfect host Tyler Toney and his crew took a trip to the Chase Center to interview Stephen Curry himself! They goofed around on the court and even played a round of golf. Through this, the crew took a unique approach to the interview altogether. In this approach was also a rapid-fire Q&A round, which Toney himself undertook and he asked Steph about the “Worst Traffic Violation you have ever had?”

Curry didn’t have to think long and outright replied, “I mean, it’s 50 in a school zone.” That response was enough to get an “OOOH” from the host. “Oooo, that’s borderline take you to jail,” said Tyler Toney. Curry agreed and added, “It was bad. But I was a senior in High School.” However, he then instantly added, “It was the rival High School though.”

Sure enough, both Curry and Toney laughed, and even the people behind the camera let out a laugh. As the NBA star continued laughing, Toney stated, “There is a lot to dig in there. We’re gonna move on, ok?” That is certainly a topic on which one would need further clarity.

High School was a memorable part of the Warriors star’s life. When Dell Curry and his family shifted to Charlotte after he signed with the Hornets, Steph’s mother Sonya considered it to be a big adjustment. Steph himself often faced bullying in high school. While some of it was due to his father’s NBA presence, his mother’s beauty also often prompted trash talk. However, when he returned to the school in 2017, the school honored the player beyond recognition.

Curry used the opportunity to address his regret that he didn’t try out for the varsity team as a freshman. Instead, he settled for playing junior varsity. However, even then, the NBA’s all-time three-point leader knew his limitations. “I was a scrawny kid,” said Curry when stating that the Number 30 jersey would have been too big for him during his high school days.

Amid those fond memories, however, is that one incident that almost caused Steph to have a brush with the law. However, if he hadn’t told us himself, there would have been no way we would have found out. Just like another time when Curry almost came close to breaking the law!

Back in July 2023, Stephen Curry did an interview with BuzzFeed Celeb. Not just any interview, but the one with the puppies! During the same, the 4x NBA champion discussed his ‘weirdest or wildest fan story’. To do so, he went back to his 2 year in the NBA.

While visiting a car wash, Curry revealed that a fan approached him. He wanted to get the player’s autograph for his kid. Curry agreed, but the fan did not have anything that he could use to place the signature on. In such worst-case scenarios, one would just volunteer to have the signature placed on their T-shirts. However, this fan took a completely unusual step.

“So, he went to his car, and looked at his glove box. And he found his kid’s birth certificate. I don’t know if that was defacing government property, or whatever the case is. I might have broken the law there, but yeah, I signed a birth certificate in Sharpie for somebody’s son,” Curry revealed.

According to reports, if someone who is not the biological father signs the birth certificate, it can be considered paternity fraud. However, it can be said with certainty that Stephen Curry wasn’t trying to get the custody of the kid for himself! Despite this, that kid will have one big story that he may continue to brag about for years and years.

Stephen Curry does not give out his autographs easily now. At one point, he made a fan do 30 push-ups to get his signature. If he is that careful, then another birth certificate incident may not end up popping up again in Curry’s lifetime.
