Stephen Curry will go down as one of the best players to ever grace the NBA. Steph is without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest shooter in NBA history, and his three-point shooting completely revolutionized the game. He transformed perennial underachievers, the Golden State Warriors, into a dynasty along with Klay and Draymond. In the process, he has amassed a resume good enough to rival any NBA legend.

Due to Curry’s impact and success in the NBA, he has always been compared to Magic Johnson. However, in a recent interview Magic set the record straight about who the greatest point guard is in a quite smug fashion.

Magic Johnson recently made headlines, as he became just the fourth billionaire athlete. According to Forbes, Johnson has amassed a net worth of approximately $1.2 billion dollars.

Recently, he made an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, where he appreciated Steph’s impact. However, he also stated he still is the greatest point guard in NBA history. He said, “I love Steph Curry and his family, but we all know who’s one and who’s two”.

He further went on to compliment Steph, “I would never say anything bad about the young man because I love him, I love watching him play. You know both of us did one thing; We both changed the way the game is played”.

Over the years, Steph has amassed a stellar resume. He has won 4 NBA titles, 2x NBA MVP and has won the Finals MVP in 2022. Along with those accolades, he also holds the record for the most three-pointers scored (3,437). However, Magic Johnson’s CV dwarfs Steph’s.

Probably one of the most successful basketball players, Magic has won 5 NBA titles. He has also won the Finals MVP and regular season MVP three times. He is also a recipient of the NBA All-Star Game MVP award.

Standing at 6 feet 9 inches, he shattered the mold of what a traditional point guard could be. Johnson’s exceptional passing, court vision, and versatility made him a pioneer in position-less basketball. He often played multiple positions, and his ability to orchestrate an offense from anywhere on the court was unprecedented.

His “Showtime” Lakers, with their fast-paced, high-scoring style, transformed the NBA into a more entertaining and dynamic league. Johnson’s rivalry with Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics helped popularize the NBA during the 1980s. His infectious charisma and leadership were equally influential. His impact on the game continues to resonate, inspiring future generations of players.
