LeBron James shared pictures of a rare $1,800,000 Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet on his Instagram story. King James was drooling over the car and wrote, “Wow Wow Wow!!! Whoever owns this and don’t want it anymore contact me ASAP!!!” The G-Wagon was in premium condition with a green overlay and a tan interior. King James might soon get his hands on the rare vehicle as the post he shared was from California. The G650 Landaulet is so rare because Mercedes-Maybach made only 99 of these cars all over the world, and they sent none of them to the United States.

Specialty Car Collection sold a few of them in California in 2020. So, it is understandable why a car enthusiast like LeBron James would want to spend a whopping $1,800,000 on the car. Maybe that is why LeBron is gunning for the inaugural in-season tournament trophy. He can use the $500,000 prize money from the tournament to purchase the G650 Landaulet.

LeBron James has a history with SUVs

LeBron James’ desire to purchase the rare G-Wagon also brings back some memories from his high school days. King James has a long history with SUVs, as owning a Hummer in 2003 got him into a lot of trouble. LeBron’s mother, Gloria James, gifted her son a Hummer on his 18th birthday when he was still a high school student at St. Vincent-St. Mary. The 18-year-old was investigated about the SUV because back in the day, it was not allowed to accept gifts of that value as a high school player.

He was also scrutinized by the media and the fans for his lavish lifestyle. LeBron later got banned from playing basketball because he accepted two throwback jerseys from a Cleveland Clothing Store. He eventually got cleared and played the rest of his senior year. The hype around LeBron James as a high school player was nothing like the world had seen before, and it continued when he got drafted into the NBA. Fortunately, the Hummer did not cause any major hindrance in LeBron’s future as an NBA superstar, and now he is ready to purchase another rare SUV.
