This hasn’t been the kind of season that a loyal Stephen Curry fan would wish for. Following the announcement of the NBA All-Star 2024 starting line-ups for both conferences, Curry has arguably faced the worst snub of his career. The Golden State Warriors superstar missed out on the starting line-up for the first time since 2013, barring his injured seasons.
Apart from Steph, other potential guards, who couldn’t make it to the starters are James Harden, Anthony Edwards, Jalen Brunson, and Trae Young. While Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant failed to make it due to a season-ending surgery, the rest couldn’t make it, despite explosive performances throughout the season.
For the first time since 2013, Stephen Curry will not be a Western Conference All-Star Starter Guard.

In the case of The Baby-faced Assassin, it was Shai-Gilgeous Alexander and Luka Doncic, who replaced him in the back court starters. Notably, this drastic let down by the Dub Nations could be the reflection of the Warriors’ poor performance this season, alongside a few fan furies over the team’s player rotational policies.
For instance, the Chase Center crowd erupted in loud cheer when Kerr brought in Moses Moddy for the first time after benching him for several games. Moreover, some fans even held ‘Fire Kerr’ placards in the arena, following the Jonathan Kuminga issue.
On the other hand, OKC Thunder‘s rising superstar Alexander earned his spot as a starter with his MVP-worthy performance in this season. In fact, he has made it to the MVP ladder for the second time in a row. Whereas, Curry had the worst slump of his career, missing out on two games, without scoring a three pointer.
Similarly, Harden, Ant Man, Brunson, and Young got snubbed despite their anchor role in their team’s success this season. Especially Edwards deserved the spot on the line-up, for his brilliance and athleticism on the court.
