Victor Wembanyama is yet to play in a Regular Season against the first-rate basketball players. Yet many have already hailed him as a generational talent. LeBron James has called him an otherworldly talent, referring to him now by the famous nickname “The Alien”. NBA’s logo inspiration Jerry West gave him a huge compliment by calling him a “bigger Big Russell”. Such lofty praises have already adorned the amazing French player.

However, one former incredible player thinks otherwise. He rates someone who has been in the league for four seasons higher than him.

A better talent than Victor Wembanyama?

Wembanyama is seven feet five inches tall and his handles are just next-level for someone his size. He has a lovely shooting stroke, he can work in the post, and he is like a wall in defense. The mix of his size and unique abilities makes him a transcendental player because the NBA has never seen someone run up and down like that for someone who is as big as Yao Ming. It is just unbelievable how fluid he looks on the court, especially bringing the ball up to the other end of the floor.

However, Tim Hardaway, who is a legend in his own right, had a rather odd take on the subject. He called Bol Bol a “better physical better talent than Victor Wembanyama”. Bol is seven-feet-two-inch tall and also has a lanky physique like Wembanyama. Now, this “physical talent” line appears vague, but it is difficult to see Bol being better than the French Center in any manner.

He has appeared in four seasons and he is yet to cross the 10 points per game mark in a season. Playing with an inexperienced Orlando Magic, he was impressive in the first half of the 2022-23 season, but his play fizzled out in the second half of the season. Because of that, he was released by Magic and is currently contracted by the Phoenix Suns in a potentially deep bench role.

Measured at seven feet six inches, his father Manute Bol was one of the tallest players to ever step foot on an NBA floor and is one of the best shot-blockers to play the game.

Fans are in disbelief over the statement

Incidentally, five-time All-Star Hardaway was Manute Bol’s teammate for two seasons during the Run TMC days. His son is yet to make a deep impact, and that is why fans are befuddled by his father’s former Golden State Warriors teammate’s statement.
