After months of build-up and weeks of anticipation, the 2024 NBA Draft’s first day or night is behind us. But it finished without being finished. Because all eyes are now firmly gazing on Thursday as the second-round draft picks await. Among them is everyone’s point of interest, Bronny James.

When LeBron James came into the league, there was a lot of buzz. And why not? He was the best prospect of his class, destined to become a great in the game. For Bronny though, the situation is different. The buzz around him is because he is LeBron James’ son, and that’s no shade on him, that’s the reality. But before we move on to night two, there is something the NBA execs should be wary of, something especially Rob Pelinka should be wary of.

On the latest episode of the Ben Maller Show, the radio host revealed a potential destination for Bronny James. According to the radio host, there is interest from the Raptors for Bronny. “I was digging around, and I saw the latest comments by the Toronto basketball team, the Raptors, who said that they have interest in Bronnie James,” said Maller. He further added, “And I have yet to find anyone on the record, any team, anyone who works for a team that has gone on the record to say negative stuff and put their name on it about.”

Calling LeBron James “The don of the league,” Maller continued that he believes Bronny will be drafted in round two. “Because if he’s not picked, LeBron will turn into a fire-breathing dragon. You better not embarrass LeBron James,” said Big Ben. Now according to reports, the Lakers will pick Bronny with their 55th pick. If that doesn’t materialize in reality, that might spell trouble for Lakers GM, Rob Pelinka. With the Lakers already drafting Dalton Knecht, a guard 17th overall, the ball is on Pelinka’s court whether he wants another inexperienced guard on the roster. We don’t know what LeBron’s reaction would be if Bronny goes undrafted. We don’t even know what Bronny’s reaction would be. But we certainly do know that’s the last thing he wants.

Bronny James Just Wants His Name Called

Bronny James will be present at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in Manhattan on Thursday night. With only 28 second-round picks this year, he will be hoping that he doesn’t drop behind 28 others. This is no prediction, this is a fact because his agent, Rich Paul himself revealed it.

During a recent episode of Gil’s Arena Show, Rich joined the host for an interactive session. When the conversation stopped with Bronny, the Klutch Sports CEO said that he wanted Bronny to achieve his dreams. “I sat with him in my office and I said to him, Bronny, what’s important to you? You know what he said to me? Man, Rich, I just wanna hear my name called. He didn’t say I wanted to go number one, number 15, number 30, he said, I just wanna hear my name called,” the Klutch Sports CEO revealed.

Rich Paul has already shut down the possibility of any team having Bronny on a two-way contract. He even explained the reason for doing so. Hence, as things stand, it’s either the Lakers at 55 or the Raptors at 31 of bust for Bronny James, at least for another year.
