Versatility finds a new name in Rudy Gobert. He has established himself as one of the best players in the league. His journey began with the Utah Jazz, and from there, he translated his defensive potential into three Defensive Player of the Year awards. From a mere pick # 27 to solidifying his status as a perennial All-Star, he has done it all. But after a disappointing playoff exit, the Jazz decided to let go of their All-Star center, Gobert in 2022 in a bid to rebuild around Donovan Mitchell.
Devoting 9 years of his career to Utah however, did not go down the drain. He has now found a new home in Minnesota. Since his arrival, the Wolves’ interior defense has bolstered. His expertise has propelled the team to claim the top spot in the Western Conference. And what’s up with their most recent win? Well, it was against none other than team Jazz! Of course, Rudy had to celebrate, however cryptic it may be!

Rudy’s trade to Minnesota was widely criticized after the T-Wolves gave up Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Leandro Bolmaro, Walker Kessler, and Jarred Vanderbilt to acquire him. However, the naysayers have been silenced since Minnesota currently sits on top of the Western Conference standings with 15 wins and only 4 losses. The results also seem to speak volumes regarding the outcome of the Rudy Gobert trade, especially considering the Jazz’s descent to the 12th position, suffering 13 losses this season.

However, Rudy was not the only one seeking revenge against his former team. Former Jazzmen Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker also helped the team cruise past the Jazz. Alexander-Walker, who was seen as an add-on in the trade that sent Mike Conley to the Wolves, has transformed into an exceptional perimeter defender. He mustered up 20 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Mike Conley also managed eight points, seven assists, and two steals despite early foul trouble.
