In the NBA circuit, the 30-year-old entrepreneur is famous for her former relationship with now-Nets guard Ben Simmons. However, it’s been years since they parted ways, and Jama is aiming for the sky. Owing to her part Swedish roots, she strategically placed herself to become a co-owner of an endeavor that very much fits her tastes and preferences.

The brand in question is Sproud, a fast-growing pea milk brand that is looking to expand in the European sector with this new partnership. “I’ve been secretly up to some business & so excited being part Swedish & joining forces with this incredible Swedish brand that makes the BEST PLANT-BASED MILK OUT! I am honestly so gassed and can not wait to see where we can take this,” Maya Jama wrote on her Instagram.

The startup generated a turnover of $4.1 million last year. It was a 37% increase in their revenue, hinting at the success the product has already witnessed. With Jama, apart from its health benefits, the popular presenter also found its packaging to be attractive. The zebra patterns on the bottle give it a simple yet sophisticated look and come at a time when milk replacements are in heavy demand.

As for her own business ventures, Maya Jama is embracing the challenge. However, this won’t be the last. “I wanted to get involved in things outside of entertainment and this is just the beginning,” she admits.

Ben Simmons and Maya Jama had come out of long-term relationships before eventually tying their strings together. The TV host shared a four-year relationship with rapper Stormzy. On the other hand, Simmons dated Kendall Jenner prior to Jama. The specifics of their encounter are still foggy.

However, their romance rampaged through with the pair even getting engaged less than a year after falling in love. Everything seemed cozy and adorable, with them even making an appearance at the Wimbledon in 2021, walking hand in hand. But with her career as a priority, the then 28-year-old Jama decided she wanted to pursue a career in the UK. That led to the pair splitting up.

Yet, an uncalled yet surprising outcome of their separation was Ben Simmons allegedly serving her a legal notice. According to Fox, the Nets guard hit her with a legal letter asking to return the engagement ring that reportedly cost “around $ 1 million,” according to a close friend of Simmons.

Thankfully, there was never any resentment between the former pair. Hence, Jama made the appropriate arrangements to return the exquisite engagement ring.
