Jimmy Butler is serving a two-game suspension. That means he will not suit up for tonight’s Nets encounter. However, the restriction from Pat Riley could not stop him from hopping on a flight to New York. Yes, the six-time All-Star was spotted in NYC promoting his brand, BIGFACE Coffee. However the questionable timing of his trip and a recently leaked footage of him getting into an altercation have sparked concerns about his behavior. Has Jimmy always been this way? Well, his former teammate Ben Simmons spilled the beans by talking about their time together in Philly.

Of course, Butler is a highly intense player who calls things like they are. That’s one of the reasons he hopped from one team to another before finally settling down in Miami. But turns out, Simmons loved having him as a teammate along with JJ Redick, who is also famous for his passion, “It’s important. For me like having JJ and playing with Jimmy, personally I love teammates like that.”

Yes, Ben prefers teammates who hold each other accountable and share honest opinions. After all, that’s what makes them great. He continued, “They just want to win. So, they’re just trying to get the best out of you the way they know how. They’re a little intense but like it’s what you need sometimes.”

Well, Butler’s impact was evident because the season he was in Philly was the closest the team has gotten to making the Conference Finals in years. Unfortunately, Kawhi Leonard’s Hail Mary buzzer-beater ended their run, otherwise, they might even have won the title with that stacked roster. While it’s confirmed that Butler can be intense at times, its not necessarily a bad thing.

However, it can be a problem if things go too far. Yes, his reputation is at stake once again because a leaked video from New York shows him indulged in a heated verbal altercation at the Reserve Padel Club.

Is Jimmy Butler's intensity a blessing or a curse for the Miami Heat's future success?

Have an interesting take?

While the reason behind it remains unknown, Jimmy can be seen arguing with someone as people try to hold him back. Maybe, it had something to do with his ongoing trade drama.

Jimmy Butler once admitted to his “Problem with Authority” which might be the reason for Heat Saga

After hearing Simmons’ take on The Young Man and The Three podcast, it’s clear that most of Butler’s problems are not with his teammates. Jimmy even said it himself in a recent interview, “As much as everybody may think, I don’t got a problem with these guys. These guys are cool. They’re my friends. My beef is not with them, never will be, and never has been.” Of course, he has a special bond with the squad, having gone to two NBA Finals together.

However, Jimmy has had his fair share of issues with the higher-ups. Just a few years ago, he revealed what led to him demanding a trade from Minnesota, “I have a for-real problem with authority. When somebody’s telling me what to do as a grown man, I have a problem with it.” Well, this could be the reason Jimmy and Pat Riley do not see eye to eye anymore. And it might lead to him getting traded very soon. Moreover, Butler could face more problems now that the footage of his public altercation is out. What are your thoughts?
