The enemies for a common cause are not enemies, and that’s something oozing from Kelly Oubre Jr’s recent media appearances after the Philadelphia 76ers move. Earlier in July, he resigned with the team for a two-year $16.3 million deal during his free agency. But little did he know that the team would sign with his on-court arch nemesis or, as it seemed, Paul George for a lucrative four-year $212 million. But it seems that the Sixers have accepted the fate, happily putting aside all the differences, as he recently announced on Instagram.

Recently, Kelly posted a picture with Paul George after working out, standing alongside like buddies with the caption, “YGBully X K9. Let’s rock out, brother . $Till ♾️” Kelly declared the former Clippers star his brother, which was surprising. And as expected, even fans could not believe that the two had moved past their troubles especially after the foul that PG pulled on Kelly during the Clippers-Sixers showdown in March this year.

In the final seconds of the game between the Clippers and the Sixers, when the former team was down by one, Kelly Oubre Jr went for a drive. However, straight under the rim, small forward Paul George bashed his chest into Oubre as he went for the hoop before being blocked by Kawhi Leonard on the rim. However, unfortunately, the referees missed that foul, and it is only one of the on-court skirmishes between PG and Kelly. They have been on-court rivals dating back to the year 2018. That’s why the sudden friendship post did not fit well with the NBA fans, as they reacted in an unexpected way to Kelly’s IG post.

Fans seem in awe of the Kelly Oubre Jr and Paul George chemistry!

As soon as Kelly posted the post-workout image, fans could not stop themselves from commenting on the post to clear away their doubts. However, one of the fans seemed ecstatic about the miraculous union on Philly’s roster as he commented on the IG post, “Beef settled 😤” It felt like the fan wanted the beef to be over once and for all with the emoji that he added with the comment. Well, it can’t be contradicted since George and Kelly Oubre are both exceptional players as rim protectors and scorers, with average rebounds of 5.2 and 5.0 last season.

One of the fans on IG could not fathom the fact that Kelly and George were standing side by side, smiling and ready to play for the same team. Astounded at the picture, he commented, “Are y’all squashing the beef now?” It all felt unbelievable to him.

Another basketball enthusiast got a little bit emotional witnessing such elite defenders playing for the same team on the same court without any troubles, considering their showdowns from the past, as he commented, “how times have changed 🥹🥹”.

A fan got so excited about the union that he predicted the Eastern Conference Finals contenders from Philly’s side as he wrote, “They both actually pretty legit in defense athletic and get ALOT of deflections this can be Philly’s year to get to the ECF finally and from there we see.”

At last, a fan noticed the chemistry between the new Sixers teammates as he was overjoyed by the ultimate union of competitive opponents, commenting, “From opponent to brothers 🔥😍”
