Team USA’s hoopers are definitely going to be wary of their teammates from now on. Bam Adebayo just gave the fanbase a juicy little sneak peek into the behind-the-scenes of their international tournament. No, it’s not glamorous. And yes, it certainly is hilarious. But it comes at the expense of our poor, dear, certified veteran Olympian, Kevin Durant. The official X handle of Overtime posted an image of Adebayo and KD with the caption, “Bam violated KD 🤣🤣🤣.”

The snippet is that of a sleeping ‘Durantula,’ mouth open and all, while the Heat star did not hesitate to take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime chance to click a selfie! And it has fans howling in laughter! Take, for instance, this reaction on the internet. “Bamonte outta pocket 🤣,” said an individual, clearly referring to how Bam is just so out of control and maybe in a little bit of trouble for this!

International tournaments seem to have a penchant for creating a blanket of safety net for teams. When these athletes are out there representing their country, all of them playing off each other’s strengths, together and towards the same goal, it gives way to a camaraderie that could very well last forever.

But more importantly, this level of comfortability (come on, to take a photo like this of ‘The Slim Reaper’ and actually post it on his Instagram?!) points to the wholesome and lighthearted atmosphere present in a group composed of some of the most dominant and elite of basketball talents to come from American soil. Well, having such an atmosphere has definitely worked, as Team USA advances to more challenging stages in their quest for gold.

It seems to be the line of thought for some fans as well. Only some, though.

There’s only a handful of teary-eyed, nostalgic Team USA fans who can’t help but look at these antics like how a doting mother would at some of her more cheeky kids. And this fan fits the bill perfectly. “The team is having so much fun together,” the user commented, followed by the GIF of Piglet (from Winnie-the-Pooh) crying happy tears.

For some of these Olympians, this could very well be the last time they arrive as participants rather than spectators. And for the younger NBA players, this is a special one. There is a high chance that names like Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton, etc. will be headlining the next round of Team USA. And for them to be part of, arguably, the best squad since the ‘Dream Team’ days, is otherworldly. Not to mention, a highly coveted learning experience.

But enough of the sentiments. We still have a long way to go for that gold. As such, let’s dive into the more comical reactions. A New York Life agent commented, “KD on a mission to catch all the flies in Paris. 🤣” Hopefully, those windows on the bus were closed! Come to think of it, Bam Adebayo would have followed it up with a choking-on-a-fly-KD picture if something like that were to happen.

Another user believes that this is acceptable behavior. “That’s what teammates are for 😂,” they wrote. Almost all of us can relate to that! Surely every one of us will have that one friend who is bound to capture our most embarrassing moments on camera. Yup, that kid is Adebayo.

And finally, this fan said what all of us were thinking. “KD gonna be pissed when he wakes up.” 

We are yet to receive an update from the “violated” man, Kevin Durant. But make no mistake, the veteran social media buff is definitely getting revenge on ‘Bamonte’ for this. If I were Bam, I’d sleep with one eye open!
