Fans were excited to see the USA men’s basketball team in Paris. Team USA, apart from attending the opening ceremony, also paid a visit to the most popular attraction in Paris – the Eiffel Tower. And what do you do when you arrive at a popular tourist destination? Like many other travelers, the NBA legend LeBron James posted a picture of the squad near the Eiffel Tower dressed in Team USA blazers, jeans, and white sneakers. Seeing the pictures on Instagram, the Team USA star Bam Adebayo made a special request to the squad.
Adebayo reshared the picture on his Instagram stories, tagging Jrue Holiday, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, and Joel Embiid. He captioned the snap with a hilarious joke stating “We Need To ALWAYS Request For The Darkskins To Be In The Front” and had laughing emojis posted next to it.
The light-hearted moment sure would have provided Team USA with a thing to laugh about in the otherwise hectic Olympics schedule. The opening ceremony started on Friday with athletes dressed up in Team USA blazers floating on the River Seine in their boats, covering a passage of 3.7 miles or six kilometers, ending in Trocadero.

The USA was one of the last teams in the river with the flag hoisted by The Chosen One. He was joined in this work by the US Open 2023 winner Coco Gauff. The ceremony gave a glimpse of the historic Paris landmarks that excited the athletes and viewers. This year’s parade was special because because of COVID-19 protocols, the Tokyo Olympics ceremony wasn’t open for spectators.
At the end of the parade, Celine Dion sang the “L’Hymne à l’amour” from near the Eiffel Tower after Lady Gaga had performed earlier. All in all, it was a beautiful night for the athletes who were proud to represent their countries and also get a tour of Paris. However, as for Adebayo’s light-hearted joke, joking isn’t an uncommon occurrence in Team USA.
Kevin Durant shares a wisecrack on his viral picture
Team USA was seen practicing just ahead of the quadrennial event. The Minnesota Timberwolves posted a picture on Thursday in which Edwards was seen dunking over Durant. Durant had to sit out of Team USA’s exhibition games because of a calf injury and made a comeback on Wednesday. The picture of Edwards making a move against Durant went viral in a few minutes.
Durant, who was witty in his inability to stop Edwards, responded with a 2018 tweet “I tried Jennifer.” The New Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum had tweeted the same when a fan had challenged him to “win a playoff game.”
