The entire basketball world has been in a complete frenzy since the news of the NBA’s earth-shattering trade involving  Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis took place. From reporters to fans even teammates were left in awe! However, Boston Celtics’ superstar Jaylen Brown isn’t cut from the same cloth as the rest of us.

Why? You might wonder. Well, as the rest of the world is trying to wrap their heads around the deal. Brown who’s seen his fair share of crazy deals over his 8 years in the league, was fast asleep when the news broke through. Moreover, even after waking to the news he didn’t seem quite surprised. Just a few months back, the Celtics guard was involved in a back-and-forth tussle with the Mavericks in the NBA Finals.

Few could have predicted how Doncic was dealt with. Still, Brown wasn’t stunned. “I wasn’t shocked,” said Brown after the Celtics’ win over the Sixers. “Maybe a little bit. But you know, the NBA is the NBA. Behind closed doors, you don’t know what’s going on. People fall out, People don’t see eye-to-eye. People have disagreements. I think some of that could lead into it.” Brown further suggested that no one knows what’s happening behind the scenes.

Furthermore, a lot of factors could have been the reason for the trade including a fallout within the franchise. He further stated that the Lakers wanted an heir to LeBron and the Mavericks probably wanted to win now, hence they came to an agreement. However, he wasn’t the only Celt who was unfazed by the Doncic-Davis trade, head coach Joe Mazzulla was also on the same page as the guard. Let’s see what he had to say on the matter.

Just over a few months ago Joe Mazzulla’s team and the Mavericks had a championship clash and have an upcoming game; It would’ve been great if he revealed what his feelings about the trade are. Instead, he did what he’s known for– not caring. As took the podium before Boston’s matchup against the 76ers, he let the media know that they shouldn’t bother him with the trade questions.

Don’t ask about the trade. I don’t really care,” Mazzulla said. As per reporter Noa Dalzell. This shouldn’t come as a massive surprise to many. The Celtics’ head coach has somewhat established his identity around his deadpan and blunt responses. Moreover, it seems he and his player Jaylen Brown were on the same page regarding the move. That said, Joe Mazzulla and the Celtics will soon be on the court with this new-look Mavericks side.

Boston will be hosting Dallas on February 6th at the TD Garden. This has all the making of a great contest and will be the replay of last year’s finals. Interestingly, this is the first time Dallas will travel to Boston since the finals. Boston is already 1-0 up in this season’s series winning the previous game, 122-107. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top this time.
