When asked if Stephen Curry would allow his son Canon on a golf course, the NBA star replied, “He is a wild child. I don’t think my wife [Ayesha] would trust me that he would make it home”. Since Stephen Curry’s 3 child reached the toddler stage, glimpses of this ‘wild’ behavior have been captured a bit. From almost giving a big fist-bump to Draymond Green to running around the 3-point line after handing his father an All-Star Ring, these Canon Curry moments may have surely left a smile on the faces of several viewers. However, as the energetic child and his siblings continue growing up, so does their energy, leaving their mother to face new challenges.

Ayesha Curry recently made an appearance on actress and comedian Sherri Sheppard’s show. As the conversation progressed, the host touched base on Ayesha and Steph’s children. When asked if Ayesha would want to add any additional “testosterone” to their extensive family, the 35-year-old highlighted that handling her current children has been a challenge in itself. After all, the ‘testosterone’ in the house is at a level that “I’m always worried about somebody like breaking something. On themselves.” Canon Curry is a prime example, as his recent interest in a ‘Michael Scott-like behavior’ has wreaked havoc in the Curry household.

“He like loves parkour, which I’m like, ‘we got to pick a different activity baby’, like on top of the parkour” Ayesha revealed. “But he like, he’ll be in the kitchen. The other day, I kid you not, he box jumped our kitchen counter”. Mrs. Curry revealed being conflicted at that point, since “You want to get upset and start yelling, and being like ‘get off the counter’, but it was impressive. It was very athletic.” This caused Sherri to comment, “I mean look at his daddy. His daddy be Box jumping all the time on the court.” Well, one really can’t argue with genes now, can they?

The revelation by Ayesha came only days after she revealed another of Canon’s developed antics as he grows up. In an interview with ‘Haute Living’, Ayesha revealed that after giving birth to Caius Chai, the now 6-year-old dropped a bomb of brutal honesty on her. “He’ll run in the kitchen and be like, ‘Mom, are you having another baby? Your belly looks big.’ I’m like, ‘No, I’m not.’ Actually, I just lost three pounds. I don’t say it to him, but in my head I’m like, ‘Dang, you got me again!’” To top it off, this incident happened not once, but 3 times! Yikes.

Canon Curry is certainly way past the stage of being a small baby. Steph and Ayesha’s recently born son Caius Chai has adopted that role. His feats of high energy have already been making waves for the last 3 years. We, as viewers, would certainly find them adorable. However, it would be hard for Ayesha to keep her son disciplined occasionally. Fortunately, one way of making sure that Canon remains controlled is by devoting that energy to something productive. As it turns out, Steph is already making strides to ensure that.

Stephen Curry highlights getting Canon engaged in shooting drills and sports

Back in September 2023, Stephen Curry took to his official Instagram account to post a video on his story. It highlighted both him and Canon being on an outdoor court, possibly located within the family residence. As the Warriors star passed his son the ball, the latter faced against the rim and attempted to throw the ball backward. After missing the first trick shot, Steph stated, “That was perfect. Just throw it a little harder”. Canon absorbed that advice and made the 2 shot, leaving Steph exclaiming in happiness.

Is Canon Curry the next big sports star, or just a wild child with endless energy?

Have an interesting take?

Over time, Canon has shown himself gaining proficiency in other sports too. This was seen when Steph attended an MLB game alongside Riley and Canon. The young man passed the baseball to his father by going into full-pitcher mode. This shows that a wild spirit like Canon Curry cannot always be contained. However, one can take advantage of that spirit by finding the right outlet to focus the energy towards. If his interest in basketball grows, then who knows? The Curry family may be the first to have three generations of its boys be a part of the NBA.
