Father Time. It’s the personification of time, the passing of years. Doesn’t it feel like it was just yesterday when the NBA world got its first glimpse of a two-year-old Riley Curry? She stole the show back in 2015 – remember the “You’re too loud, Daddy” declaration? – and that’s precisely what she’s done yet again. But this time, it’s because of a picture Ayesha Curry shared on Instagram.
After a memorable Paris Olympics, the Curry crew decided to get some well-deserved family time. And Ayesha Curry has been keeping us updated about their relaxing summer with timely Instagram stories and posts, the latest of which was no different. Captioned “Sand and Sun vibes,” the mother of four posted a series of adorable pictures featuring Stephen Curry and her kids, minus Caius.
With the carousel including everything from whales “doing parkour,” lizards on walls, and pictures of Steph and Ayesha, what shook fans was the last slide.

Sitting on a giant paddle board were the couple, as well as Riley, Ryan, and Canon. And at the front, looking back to smile at the camera, was none other than the couple’s beautiful firstborn. Suffice it to say that she’s not the same two-year-old who adorably caused havoc in her father’s interviews. Or even the 10-year-old who said, “I’m just trying to eat my tomatoes,” when Steph gifted her new shoes for her birthday. No, this Riley looked all grown up, ready to take on the world (and the waves). And her transformation took fans by storm as they reminisced about those 2015 press conferences from almost a decade ago.
Just about 3 years after Steph and Ayesha had Riley on July 19, 2012, the Golden State Warriors star was named the league’s MVP. After all, he’d led the franchise to its first Conference Finals appearance in 39 years. So, after the Game 1 win against the Houston Rockets, where the guard dropped a game-high 34 points, Riley accompanied her father to the press conference. “I wanna sit in your lap,” she demanded, and Steph Curry couldn’t help but oblige.
With the two-year-old waving to everyone, handing out sassy remarks like her father handed out threes, yawning at intervals, making it painfully obvious it was the last place she wanted to be, Warriors fans declared Riley the real MVP. So, it was only fair that she made another appearance (something Steph regrets now). And this time, it was after the Warriors won the series against the Rockets, 4-1. And, well, Steph thought “she was taking advantage of the moment, for sure.”

That was almost 10 years ago. And yes, Ayesha Curry does drop a few pictures here and there during birthdays and Halloween, but it was yet another shock for GSW employees and fans alike when a tall, young girl accompanied the 6’2 guard. Riley had joined her father for the Warriors vs Pelicans game in early April 2024. It took a few seconds for the pieces to fall into place – this was Steph’s eldest daughter!
And now, fans are gushing about her transformation.
Fans feel Steph and Ayesha Curry’s kids have “grown up overnight”
Not wasting a moment, this fan dived straight into one of her viral 2015 moments. “Omg Riley is so big!!! Feels like yesterday she was 2 saying, ‘I feel blessed’ 😂🩵🩵“The user was referring to Riley’s hilarious second appearance where “she was taking advantage” of the attention. She launched into Big Sean’s ‘Blessings’ mid-conference, singing Drake’s line from the chorus: “Way up, I feel blessed.” Needless to say, the entire room blew up in laughter. While the two-year-old became a star right then and there, did you know Steph Curry actually regrets bringing her to those interviews?
“One thing I do technically regret in terms of how fast this all came is when I brought Riley on the podium,” he revealed in a 2019 interview. Although it happened because he wanted to share his experiences with his family, Steph admitted, I didn’t know how much that would blow up and how much of a splash she [would make] on the scene… If I could take that one back, I probably would.” But going by his fans’ reactions, they wouldn’t have had it any other way.
The next fan reminisced about the other time she joined her Dad. “Aww Riley, ‘You’re too loud, daddy’ 😢,” no doubt sad at how fast she grew up, referring to that Game 1 post-game presser. Not taking no for an answer, she got onto Curry’s lap. After a few moments of listening to her father talk about the matchup, Riley spoke her mind: “You’re too loud, Daddy. Be quiet.” We don’t have to tell you the reaction to that!
Another fan found it hard to accept that it really was Riley in the last slide. “No way that’s Riley in the last slide. Man they grow up so fast. lol, now I feel old.” Well, that’s one way to look at it, we suppose. Following the same line of thought was this next fan. “Good gracious these kids have grown up overnight. I feel like once I blink, Riley will be a freshman in college. Your family is absolutely beautiful 😍” We feel you.
After all, it was just five years ago that Steph Curry was belting out Hamilton’s ‘You’ll Be Back’ with Riley and Ryan in his car while going on an ice-cream trip. This, and every other tidbit that Steph and Ayesha have shared about their kids, made a fan ask, “Weren’t they all just babies?” And finally, Ayesha’s best friend and Freaky Friday actress, Lindsay Lohan, kept it simple: “❤️❤️❤️❤️”
