“I’ve seen a lot of Team USA basketball and that was special,” Steph stated as the greatest three-point shooter seemed to have broken from his slump right on cue. While Team USA’s win was predicted over Serbia, the other aspect everyone was sure of was that Nikola Jokic and Co. would never make it easy. And in the fourth quarter, it came a little too close for comfort as LeBron James and Steph Curry had to step up big time to fight back from a 13-point deficit for that 95-91 victory. Watching it all with their hearts in their mouths were the better halves of these greats – Savannah James and Ayesha Curry.
Both Mrs. James and Mrs. Curry breathed a sigh of relief when Team USA put Serbia down for good. And they shared their joy and pride, taking to Instagram to showcase the special moments. The multi-talented millionaire entrepreneur re-shared pictures and graphics that captured iconic moments of her hub. One of them listed the Warrior’s insane score – 36 points, 9 treys, and 8 rebounds.
The next one was quite the photo, really. Steph in the air, with a jubilant face, screaming his victory while a Serbian player was right next to him, lying on the floor, hands on his head, looking terribly disappointed; naturally. Frame worthy from every Team USA and Golden State fan! The Serbs would have gone down in history as the team that vanquished Dream Team 2.0 were it not for the intervention of the “King” and the “Assassin”.

As for Vannah, she added her own flair to a picture that showed LeBron James in his Avenger mode, looking ready to destroy the entire fleet of Serbia. Deciding that the following emojis captured her feelings on the matter better than any words, she wrote, “😤😤😤😤😤.” As much as the GOATS of the NBA were responsible for the victory, Team USA’s comeback couldn’t have happened without the support of the whole caboodle.
While Ayesha Curry and Savannah James’ joy is warranted, Team USA’s triumph deserves some special mentions
Nikola Jokic and his squadron played no-nonsense basketball from the start. There was no confusion, lag, or a moment of rest for these European gentlemen. After getting their share of losses at Team USA’s hands, Serbia seems to have understood that the sheer amount of talent alone was enough to overpower them. As such, they were careful not to show any chink in their armor.
“We knew it’s going to be difficult. We knew Serbia was going to give us everything they had. Kudos to Serbia. But we came through,” King James said of the game and his opponents. The ‘coming through’ happened in the final quarter.

USAB’s all-time leading scorer, Kevin Durant’s triple became the turning point for Team USA to put themselves in the lead. The score at the time was 78-67. With just over seven minutes left in the game, KD sank a three-pointer, following which Anthony Davis was fouled. The US retained possession and Devin Booker promptly buried another three. The sudden flurry of shots seemed to have momentarily stunned Serbia. Seeing that they caught their enemy unaware, Team USA bit hard and never let go. Stephen Curry followed Book’s shot with two successive treys of his own as Kerr and his men sealed the deal.
In the gold medal round, the United States will be facing France. The homecourt advantage is clearly for the latter and as was in the case of Serbia, Vincent Collet is going to round up his boys to give it their all. Even so, Team USA still ranks as a heavy favorite to win the gold. So, unless France pulls off some major upset, Team Avengers are returning with a gold medal adorning their neck.
