Stephen Curry's love for Ayesha is goals—do you think their bond boosts his game on the court?

Stephen Curry might have a lot on his plate right about now. But the first-time Olympian isn’t known as the ultimate family man for nothing. 5000+ miles apart from his beloved wife and mother of four, Ayesha Curry, the Warriors superstar posts a simple message on their special day on Instagram. Yes, July 30th marks as their wedding anniversary, which the Curry’s lovingly celebrated with a carasoul of images on the social media platform.

Posting 4 adorable pictures of them both, Steph Curry wrote: “13 years in and still loving every minute of it my woman! @ayeshacurry”. Followed by, “July 30, 2011”

Ayesha, too, wasn’t too far behind when it came to showering her love on her beau. She too, took to IG and posted another carasoul of pictures, captioning the post: “13 years of being married to the love of my life. I am so excited to see what the next decade brings. 4 babies, 16 years together and a whole lot of memories later and here we are… lucky 13. It just gets better and better. Let’s freaking go!!!!!!”

The majority of Ayesha’s pictures are from various vacations they took together, an image of them sipping coffee, and the last one seems to be a pretty old image of them, with Ayesha donning a headband as was the staple of every millennial in the late 2000s.

The high school sweetheart’s love story is one that’s still fresh in everyone’s minds. From their casual meet and greet in 2003, the duo have come a long way to becoming a family of 6.

Reminiscing Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry’s relationship

It’s as if the memories are still fresh in Ayesha’s mind, she remembers talking to the “darling boy”. “He was the cute boy at church that all of the girls were obsessed with, so I made a generalization that maybe he wasn’t for me.” But little did she know that the then-14-year-old’s subtle attempts at flirting certainly left an impression. And what exactly did Ayesha do to catch Steph’s attention? Asking for a friend, of course.

Maynards Fuzzy Peach – the sugar-sanded peach gummy candies that Ayesha would bring back from visiting her hometown, Toronto. Yup, as simple as that! When the universe itself is rooting for you, even gummies are enough to find your soulmate.

And the firsthand witness to it all, the Currys’ baby sister, Sydel Lee-Curry, too, reminisced about those adorable moments. “That’s how she would flirt with him, in a way. She would find him after church, barely say two words, and like walk away. I would look at her like ‘God, she’s so lame.’ He clearly liked it. It left an impression,” the co-owner of Domaine Curry said in Curry’s biography, The Miraculous Rise of Steph Curry.

It was enough for a breakout basketball legend that Steph was destined to be excited about his trip to LA for ESPYS in 2008 because “Oooooh. L.A. That’s where Ayesha is.”

Surprisingly, Ayesha was in LA too for her various modeling and acting assignments. However, she wasn’t sure what the ESPYs were. She had set a mental boundary when it came to falling in love with “athletes”. Little did she know that 2008 would be when she’d break her rules. Quickly their relationship started to reach its peak.

Soon after, Steph decided to go down on one knee, proposing to her on a “pretense” trip to a family cookout. In an older interview, Chef Curry revealed the secrets, saying, “So we pulled up to the house, and I stopped in the middle of the driveway, got down on my knee, and went into my spiel. Little did I know the whole family was looking out the window.”

The next year, 2011, Ayesha and Steph said “I do” at the Ballantyne Resort in North Carolina with 400 people in attendance.

And just a year after their wedding day, they welcomed their daughter Riley into the world. 3 years later, they welcomed Ryan their second daughter. In 2018, they welcomed their son Canon in February. And just this year, in May, they welcomed another son, Caius.

It’s been a little over 3 months since Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry welcomed their fourth baby boy, Caius Chai Curry. Having planned their little bundle of joy around the Paris Olympics, the little guy got one over the parents by coming in a few days early. Caius wasn’t about to miss his dad’s first and probably the last Olympics!

Of course, the new mom needs time to recuperate. As such, Steph’s family has yet to join him in the ‘City of Love’. In a recent chat with Andscape, ‘Chef Curry’ said, “My wife might come the last week when the medal rounds start. We have a new baby, so it makes it tough to travel.” Anyone with a newborn baby can attest to this fact. But Ayesha Curry has decided on Paris as her summer vacation destination.

In a short tête-à-tête with Thirteen Lune, the black-and-brown-owned beauty e-commerce brand, the Sweet July Skin founder spilled the beans on her plans. “We’re headed to Paris to support Stephen and Team USA,” Ayesha said in their blog, The Great Escape. Full disclosure, though, the fourth-time new mom always has an eye (and nose) out for French cuisine!

So, if you are out there, sampling the local treats and indulging in all things good that Paris has to offer, don’t be too surprised to find Ayesha right next to you.
