The battle of the 3rd and 4th seed in the East is all set to blaze. Despite the big names involved in both teams, both teams have a nagging problem. It’s the lack of depth. With Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have consistently clocked in numbers, yet they fell short at times. Meanwhile, the NY Knicks have Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns but they easily fall short if one of their players in the starting lineup gets injured.
So, it’s a battle to find out who has a better depth. It’s actually quite easy to say looking at the paper, as the Knicks literally only have an 8-man rotation. Nevertheless, it’s the star-studded starting lineup that takes the majority of the beatings and mostly goes home with the W.
Getting back to the subject, will the Greek Freak and Dame Time be available for tonight’s matchup? Well, the future looks bleak as the team listed Giannis and Dame as Probable, citing knee and left calf contusion, respectively. The duo has missed a few games this season, and the team has paid the price by losing a stretch of games.

Moreover, it would be a golden opportunity for the Knicks to sweep an easy win. Hopefully, the duo will clear the fitness before the tip-off to ensure an exciting contest. Apart from the superstar duo, the team has also listed Khris Middleton as Probable with an ankle injury and Gary Trent Jr. as Questionable with a hip injury. On the other hand, the Knicks have its standard starting lineup intact without any injury but some players still made it to the list.
- Miles McBride (Hamstring) – Probable
- Pacome Dadiet (G-League) – Questionable
- Mitchell Robinson (Ankle) – Out
- Kevin McCullar Jr. (Knee) – Out
Giannis Antetokounmpo & Co. vs Knicks: Starting Lineup and Depth Chart
Following the NBA Cup success, defeating the OKC Thunder, the Bucks went into a slump. However, the team has again bounced back with the latest 3-game winning streak. With Bobby Portis and Khris Middleton taking care of the second unit, the team seemed to have achieved some stability. However, the important part is that they should carry it till the postseason. In the last two seasons, Giannis suffered right around the playoffs and the team made an early exit.

The same goes with the Knicks. As of now, the starting lineup is almost punching in 48 minutes every game because of the thin depth. So, once Mitchell Robinson returns to the mix, the Knicks may have a stable second unit spearheaded by Josh Hart. The latest update revealed that Robinson will begin full practice at some point in January. We can expect the big man to return on January end or February. Anyway, who do you think will win tonight’s contest? Let us know in the comments.
