The Minnesota Timberwolves prepare themselves to host The Phoenix Suns in the final matchup of the regular season at Target Center tonight. The Wolves will be looking to clinch that top seed in the Western Conference against OKC Thunder and Nuggets who stand in a 56-25 three-way tie. But they face a hurdle as two of their star players find themselves listed as questionable.

According to the latest injury report, both Anthony Edwards (illness) and Karl-Anthony Towns (left meniscus) are listed as questionable. The shooting guard was previously listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup against the Hawks but ended up starting the game to record 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. He hasn’t missed a match for the Wolves since early December when he suffered a hip injury, thus, averaging a career-high 26.1 points, 5.1 assists, and 5.4 rebounds. He has been a valuable asset alongside Anthony-Towns in the front court.

Karl-Anthony Towns has been battling a left meniscus injury since early March. Being sidelined since March 4th, the power forward only returned to the court on Friday against the Hawks to finish with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists across 27 minutes. In his absence, Naz Reid has been a reliable scoring option off the bench. It is, thus, expected that Towns will get some minutes so that he can get his rhythm back before the playoffs.

Predicted Lineups: Timberwolves vs Suns

Holding onto the 2nd seed in the Western Conference, the Minnesota Timberwolves have won 7 games out of their last 10 games. They have performed well on the defensive end this season. They have conceded points at an average of 106.3 points per game, which is the best overall in the league. Heading into their last matchup supreme, this is how they could line up: Rudy Gobert, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, Mike Conley Jr.

Phoenix Suns, on the other hand, are currently ranked 7th in the Western Conference. They have won 6 games out of their last 10 games with a 2-game win streak. Currently, 48-33, the Suns are still vying to avoid the play-inns against Pelicans who stand 49-32. If the former manages to land a win tonight and the New Orleans lose theirs, the Suns can stand a chance in occupying the 6th seed and ultimately a spot in the playoffs. In hopes of triumphing the matchup, this is how they could line up: Bol Bol, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, Jusuf Nurkić, Kevin Durant.
