The Warriors lose, trade rumors start flaring up, everybody wants them to get some help for Steph Curry. The Warriors win, everybody thinks they might just be alright. Golden State won today but they still need help. Draymond Green returned on Monday after his Jan. 18 exit was what the Warriors needed.

For the first time since December 11, they kept an opponent under 100 points. While his scoreline wasn’t flashy—just four points—his defense was undeniable. He also grabbed seven boards and dished out five assists. In 29 minutes, Green finished with a plus-9.

But Green’s return is still not enough. Draymond himself agrees. After the match Green was asked if this year’s trade deadline felt more intense given the Warriors’ standing, and he didn’t hold back. “Yeah, he’s probably one of the most outspoken, if not the most outspoken. And so in saying that, we all know that he’s pissed sitting at 0.500.”

The Warriors’ 0.500 record, Green pointed out, isn’t something Lacob is willing to accept. “You gotta know, you know, people and who you’re dealing with. And he does not ever do you ever look at him when we lose him? He’s a senior. He ain’t going for no losing.” With tensions rising, the 4x All-Star made it clear: “Sitting at 0.500, you know, you gotta expect that they’re gonna look to be aggressive.”

Despite the team’s struggles, the Warriors forward remains confident in their ability to compete. “We wanna compete, and it hasn’t gone quite the way we thought it would go. But I can still feel very comfortable with these guys in our locker room and still think that we can win.”

However, Green acknowledged that the ultimate decisions are in the hands of management. “Like I said, ultimately, the decision is not ours. But there’s definitely a sense of urgency, and, you know, we can all understand.”

Green’s words underline a clear message: the Warriors are feeling the heat as the trade deadline approaches. With ownership pushing for changes and the team’s current performance falling short of expectations, Green’s remarks reveal just how much is riding in the next 2 days.

The Warriors top targets are off the market with Zach LaVine going to the Kings and them rejecting Nikola Vucevic. They are getting desperate.

The Warriors front office is getting desperate, call almost every All-Star

Just two weeks ago, Stephen Curry gave the Warriors’ brass the go-ahead to avoid making any “desperate” trades. He wanted them to stay focused on the future, not waste resources trying to extend the current roster. This seemed like the perfect moment for Golden State to embrace their next era, but now, with the trade deadline looming, it feels like they’re doing the opposite.

The Warriors missed out on  LaVine, who ended up in Sacramento, and even cooled off on talks with Jimmy Butler after realizing he wouldn’t sign an extension. Now, according to Shams Charania, they’re “making calls on every All-Star player.” Yep, you read that right—Paul George, Kevin Durant, LeBron James—all rumored targets. So what’s going on? Why the sudden panic?

Remember when they acted like their system didn’t need chasing stars? Joe Lacob even bragged about being “light years ahead” of everyone else. Turns out, that confidence may have been misplaced. When their good fortune ran out, the Warriors found themselves scrambling like every other team. They’re now chasing names like Paul George, who they passed on last offseason, and LeBron, who’s still somehow on their radar.

It’s a little ironic, right? The Warriors were too proud for too long. Now, they’re desperately trying to plug holes in their roster. Teams like the Thunder and Spurs are thriving with smart decisions, while the Warriors scramble, hoping for another miracle.
