As Steph Curry leads Team USA to its fifth consecutive gold, the Chef took some time to soak it in, winning his first Olympic gold. Initially, his Olympic debut seemed kind of shaky, as he wasn’t as present on the scoring end. However, Steph showed up when it mattered the most. Putting the team on his shoulders in the playoffs, Curry’s Semi-Final and Final performances really uplifted Team USA’s chances of gold. The Chef only drained triples, knocking down 8 of them in the Finals.
Following the condensed game, Steph Curry took to Instagram Live alongside Anthony Edwards. The four-time champ shed a few tears after the game but was all smiles when he went live with ANT and KD hyping him up. Curry had plans to play in Paris hours after winning the 2022 championship. Not only did it become a reality, but it was all Steph who left it all on the floor in these crucial games.

On the other hand, Steph reflected on this win, recalling his last championship run. “It is special, two years ago when we won our last championship I knew that this was gonna be on the horizon and something that I was excited to go after”, said Curry. Now, two years later, winning the gold medal didn’t come easy. However, this was one of the games that will be on Steph’s highlight reel. Being his Olympic debut, Curry quite literally went back to his championship mode to finish things off.
The Chef earlier said that this would be his first and last Olympic appearance, as he confirmed following the Semi-Final. “I came into this thinking it would be my one and only time to play in the Olympics and experience this stage. So that was part of my sense of relief and joy.”, said Curry. It is unfortunate to only watch his magic once, but then again, it was all worth it to the point where Steph admired his own performance.
Steph Curry couldn’t believe what he pulled off
The four triples Steph drained in the fourth quarter were all quite remarkable. After the first two threes, Steph was more confident in his shot than ever. He went on to splash contested threes that sealed the game. When asked about his performance late in the fourth Steph didn’t have much to say except for the fact that “I impressed myself”. And why not? Yes, he’s won four championships, a two-time league MVP, and his other massive accolades. But the same sequence of four triples will be a core memory of his career.
