Minnesota pulled one over Denver in the Conference semis to advance to a battle with the Mavs. The Wolves fans were out of this world with joy and thrill at Anthony Edwards and how he has been steering the ship. Michael Jordan comparisons were going around social media in full swing too. That’s how incredible of a matchup it’s been when the TWolves are your opponents. However, all of that came crashing down in just three games, sparking numerous speculation and question marks.

Hailed as the best defensive backcourt duo in NBA history, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving were flaying the Wolves in the Western Conference Finals. Tightly contested games, sure, but the ultimate victors were the Mavs. When it looked like Dallas would also see a Boston-like series sweep, Ant-Man struck! The 22-year-old swooped in out of nowhere as the Wolves team won Game 4 in the face of a stunned Mavs team.

It was an exhilarating Tuesday night, for sure. But Draymond Green, who has now taken a regular seat with the Inside crew, took to The Draymond Green Show to express concern over Ant-Man’s health. The 4x champion said, “It looked to me like something was off. Lungs, wind was a little off. Didn’t have that same burst that he had last night, like you saw it right away!”

The reason Green felt this way was because Anthony Edwards was not one to hide away from all the smoke. Apparently, the chatter among the youngsters was, “He [Edwards] running up the chimney for the smoke.” There is no doubt that many can correspond to that. The 2x All-Star came into the league with confidence that would give MJ a run for his money. He has maintained that throughout his career. And it only seems to increase when going up against top NBA names.

Seeing as we have yet to receive any confirmation of what Draymond Green thinks could be the issue, it is safe to assume that Ant isn’t suffering from any health concerns. Whatever caused the slump in the initial games was long gone by Game 4.

Despite Draymond Green’s concerns, the Wolves’ elimination game saw them live another day

When the Boston Celtics swept the Pacers with a clean 4-0 slate, basketball enthusiasts were unhappy that they would have to wait quite a bit to see teams in action. And why was that? The Mavericks looked to follow the Cs’ pattern in disposing of their foes swiftly. Unfortunately, neither Kyrie Irving’s “Super Bowl” taunt nor the Dallas crowd’s jeering affected a renewed Timberwolves team.

Seeing how Anthony Edwards and Co. previously struggled, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume the Mavs were taking a light and comfortable stance. After all, what more could a team down 0-3 do? Right?

Wrong! Well, kind of wrong. The ‘Big D’ still holds the advantage over Minnesota in every way. But they could have been done with the ‘North Star State’ and gone back home to get the much-needed rest.

So what made the difference?

I was aggressive,” Edwards said. “I didn’t run to the corner in the fourth quarter late, I didn’t shy away from the ball. I kept going to the ball and they kept giving it to me and trusting me.” If we were to go back to Draymond Green, this wasn’t ANT tooting his own horn.

Remember how Dray practically scolded Anthony black and blue for his “tired” and “did not expect” comments after the Game 1 loss? At the time, the veteran forward pointed out “the same way those guys have followed you to this point, they’ll follow that as well.” By this theory, if Anthony Edwards gets going, it translates to the entire team.

Considering Game 4’s result, we can safely say that it was indeed what made the switch. What are your thoughts on the matter? Let us know in the comments!
