Anthony Edwards left the NBA World buzzing after posterizing Utah Jazz Center John Collins in tonight’s game. The Timberwolves star submitted his entry for this season’s Dunk of The Year with his unbelievable slam. Unfortunately, Edwards was unable to react to what he had done on the court because he dislocated his finger after making contact with Collins on the dunk.
After the game, Edwards watched the replay of his monster dunk during the post-game interview and blamed his injury for stealing his thunder. The 22-year-old shooting guard was hyped after watching his highlight and said, “Oh my God! Hey, that’s my best dunk of my career, not gonna lie.”

Chris Hine, StarTribune beat reporter and ex-reporter at Chicago Tribune couldn’t hold himself back as well. He took to X to tweet the following message:
More Anthony Edwards: "It gives me chills, man. Because like, I always dreamed of dunking on somebody like that and watching Vince Carter jump over somebody or like watching T-Mac. I always dreamed of dunking on somebody like that and that was like my favorite one of all time."

But Edwards was not pleased with the fact that he could not react to the dunk in real-time. “I couldn’t even react to that, I dislocated my finger.” Yes, the impact of the insane dunk was so powerful that it ended up injuring both players.
Anthony Edwards’ Finger Dislocation, John Collins’ Head Injury
After Edwards realized his finger was dislocated, he headed straight to the locker room to readjust it. Fortunately, Ant-Man was able to return to the game and lead the Timberwolves to victory. He finished with 32 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds, and led Minnesota to a 114-104 win. Edwards had his fingers taped to avoid re-aggravating his injury during the game. The Timberwolves will assess the severity of Edwards’ injury and determine if he will play in the next game.
Meanwhile, John Collins got the worst of Anthony Edwards’ highlight play. Not only did Collins get humiliated by Edwards, but he also suffered a head contusion trying to contest the dunk. Collins was taken out of the game immediately and was assessed under concussion protocol. He did not return for the rest of the game and finished his night with 11 points and 6 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. The severity of Collins’ injury is unknown, and the Jazz would hope that it is not too serious.
