After the Nuggets made light work of the Timberwolves in Game 5, many expected the inexperienced squad to fold under pressure and get eliminated in the next game. But, not ready to lose on their home court, Anthony Edwards and Co. took care of business on Thursday and bounced back with a 45-point blowout victory to even the series. And now, the Wolves face a situation they haven’t come across in two decades, playing in a series-deciding Game 7.

Despite raising injury concerns from the hard fall he took on Thursday, Ant-Man is not losing sleep thinking about the high-pressure game and remains unfazed for tomorrow.

Giving the Wolves fans a huge sigh of relief, Edwards revealed in an interview how he was feeling after the fall in Game 6, “Feeling good. Ready to get the game started.” And that is amazing news, as the situation was not looking too good on Thursday. Driving to the basket during the third quarter, Edwards fell awkwardly on his back after taking a bump from Michael Porter Jr.

While his teammates and even Jokic came to check on him, Ant-Man continued to lie on the floor in immense pain. Eventually, he got back up and was able to finish the game, even scoring 27 points in the win.

Setting aside the injury concerns, Edwards also revealed that the team was motivated and ended practice on a high note despite tomorrow being many players’ first Game 7 of their careers!

“I think everybody is happy and ready to compete. So, I think we’ll be ready to go,” he added. Oozing confidence after the blowout win in the last game, Edwards claimed that since he had never been in this situation before, the emotions were not getting to him or his teammates and they were just focused on getting the win.

Is it just like any other game for Anthony Edwards?

On a stage like Game 7, sometimes even the best players crumble under pressure.

With the hopes of millions of fans resting on your shoulders and the stakes higher than ever, it’s very easy to lose sight of the goal and choke. However, since Edwards has never been here before, he wants to treat tomorrow’s game like any other. When asked if he would be able to sleep tonight, he replied with amazing confidence, “Easy… It’s nothing special about the Game 7 or a Game 1 or 82. It’s the same game for me. I’m just ready to play it.”

Yes, that’s exactly the kind of attitude that forces fans to compare him to Michael Jordan. Gifted with similar athleticism, playing style, and more importantly a very similar mindset, Anthony Edwards surely seems like the next coming of His Airness. And if he can dethrone the defending Champions tomorrow and lead his team to the Conference Finals for the first time in two decades, he will only add more fuel to the MJ comparisons.

Having won the first two games on the road, the Wolves proved that they can beat Denver in their arena. So, can they do it again tomorrow with their season on the line?
