Today the NBA kicked off the first series of games in the 2024 post-season. Anthony Edwards emerged as one of the biggest heroes of the night for the Minnesota Timberwolves, delivering a phenomenal performance against Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. Ant-man scored 33 points shooting 58.3% from the field and 50 from the point range in addition to 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and 6 assists.
The playoffs are a breeding ground of greatness, and Edwards already put his best foot forward. Despite being only 22, the Ex-Warriors coach already saw this potential in Ant long before his heroics this season as he confesses in the latest episode of his podcast.
“I mean I knew right away when I was filming part of the movie ‘Hustle’ with the great Adam Sandler, I knew right away looking at Anthony Edwards. He’s a different dude, he is a different dude that loves the game of basketball and thinks he’s the baddest dude in the gym at all times,” said Mark Jackson.

So, if coach Jackson thinks the 22-year-old has it in him, it has to have some credibility, because he is the guy who made the Warriors big three. However, to prove himself, Edwards has to at least make a run to the Western Conference finals.
Can Anthony Edwards make it to the Western Conference Finals?
To reach the second round, the Timberwolves need three more wins. KD is likely to turn it up a notch higher although he had 31 points even in the loss today. If Devin Booker and Bradley Beal pick up the pace in the next game, it won’t be as easy to defeat them. As both of them scored below 20 in today’s game. However. if Ant-Man and Co manage to defeat the Suns they will play against either the Los Angeles Lakers or the Denver Nuggets.

This will probably be the final hurdle for Edwards if Denver wins, defeating them will be difficult but they have done it twice this season. If they manage to show the defending champions the door Minnesota will become the title favorites alongside Boston. Do you think Anthony Edwards can win his first finals MVP at 22?
