As per Adrian Wojnarowski, Rodriguez and Lore submitted a financial redesign to lower the teams salary cap to $171 million to avoid a luxury tax hit. With Edwards, The Wolves have three players on their roster making atleast 35 millin next time, them being Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert.
With Edwards’ appraisal, it deepens the severity of the problem. To hold all three of their stars, the Wolves will have to shell out over $120 million on them alone. That leaves only $51 million to distribute amongst the rest and also impossible to retain the current core. That leaves them with some cruel decisions to make.

Either they can follow the ‘Big 3’ trend or they can plan to sell one of these stars. Rodriguez has lauded Anthony Edwards for his blistering rise in just three years. Despite that there is a chance he has the tough talk with the 22 year old. While it remians highly unlikly, the future is growing foggy for the Timberwolves.
The Wolves will lose one of their stars if the ownership does change. Either of Towns, Gobert or Edwards will have to go before the next season begins. This also means it could be the last shot for this charasmatic and ambitious group to compete for a championship. Everything about the future remains uncertain. All Minnesota fans can pray is it all works out in the end.
