We have seen Anthony Davis reach the free-throw line quite often. We didn’t mean to say that he was a foul-baiter, but the big man’s aggressive physical play naturally led him to that path. Tonight, he reached the line against the Detroit Pistons, but there was something more to it. And, Pistons’ guard Malik Beasley definitely didn’t like it and the duo had an instant back and forth, leaving the NBA world hyped up.
During the late end of the first quarter, AD battled it out near the rim against two Pistons defenders, Paul Reed and Simone Fontecchio. The star center attempted a tough shot, and it didn’t go in but he managed to get a shooting foul after screaming “Ayy”. Immediately from the other hand, Beasley, frustrated with the call, took it up to Davis, saying, “Just cause you scream AYYY doesn’t mean it’s a foul.”

Fans were immediately all over it, taking out on both Anthony Davis and Malik Beasley. Firstly, some section of fans appreciated the new Pistons guard for calling out the big man. Notably, he had played alongside AD for a brief stint in the 2022-23 season after he was traded from the Utah Jazz.
So, we can say that the 28-year-old guard would know a thing or two about Brow’s offensive strategies. Reacting to it a fan wrote, “Malik a real one for this.” Well, we can’t certainly buy this fan’s words as there are conflicting opinions as well. Let’s take a look at them.

Anthony Davis and Malik Beasley’s priceless interaction sparks amusement
First of all, fans lauded Malik Beasley for perfectly impersonating Anthony Davis’ scream. A fan wrote, “He did the impersonation spot on.” Well, that was the scream that fetched him the foul. Beasley did himself a favor by perfecting it. It might come in handy for him in the long run.
Moreover, another fan doubled it down, saying that it was the scream that had been fetching the big man free throws. They wrote, “I been saying this about AD for years man.” This may be a harsh statement to say, given the fact that Davis is a post-dominant player. Notably, Giannis Antetokounmpo and AD lead the league for the most free throw attempts taken in a game, averaging 11.3 and 8.6 attempts per game. It’s important to note that both players have similar playing styles.

On the other hand, another fan dropped a hilarious reaction behind Beasley’s snap. The fan wrote, “Beasley mad because he gonna be on a new team next year.” In the last four years, Beasley has played for five different franchises. So, this fan decided to take a dig at him. Nevertheless, the shooting guard seemed to have found his footing with the Pistons, as he produced a better average, compared to his last four seasons.
Another fan wrote, “Sadly, it does if you’re a Laker,” highlighting that the refs provide shooting fouls to the Lakers. This has been long-pending speculation on the LA side, saying that the team has rigged the officiating. However, there isn’t any proof for this claim. This is merely an outcry from a Pistons supporter.
