The Lakers lost 119-135 to the Rockets tonight. A resounding defeat to the team that blew through the Warriors on their home court! While the matchup between them ended in a somewhat fair manner, Anthony Davis wasn’t happy with the unfairness of the refs. Especially against a certain loud-mouthed Rockets forward named Dillon Brooks.

Talking to reporters post-game, first, Davis voiced his displeasure at the way the referees handled Jarred Vanderbilt, and second, the LeBron situation. Davis described the run-in with James as a “blatant hit”. And he believes that Brooks should have been ejected. But the refs don’t see it that way and there’s nothing he can do about it.

It was with utter heartbreak that the Lakers fans watched Vando walk away. They were shouting for him to start the game, but Ham, unsurprisingly, stuck to his usual lineup. After a slow start, the Lakers had gotten up to speed, and they even took a short lead when Jarred was subbed in.

Playing just seven minutes, he landed three points before the altercation with the perennial villain, Brooks saw him with an ejection. There were two instances where the two forwards got into it. The first was a foul when Vanderbilt was mid air for a dunk and the second was in the second quarter.

A shove to Dillon after a Reaves dunk got the 24-year-old a technical. Unhappy with how Brooks got away with it, Jarred flicked Brooks’ ear for good measure. And that was enough floor time for him. Bron, on the other hand, got it pretty good.

Brooks’ hit saw LeBron James on the ground

Dillon Brooks was assessed a flagrant 1 foul for a hit on LeBron. The incident happened in the fourth quarter. Bron was trying to land a bucket and Brooks was right behind him, trying to swat the ball away. Unfortunately for James, his head got in the way of the ball (supposedly?) and Bron fell to the ground.

Although that got him a flagrant 1, the 4x champion was reportedly upset Dillon didn’t get a flagrant 2.

The “rivalry” between the two have been ongoing for quite some time now. While LeBron doesn’t usually entertain such petty taunts, Brooks’ time with the Grizzlies saw the King exchange pleasantries with the Canadian native. Even though Dillon seems to have the best time of his life after signing with Houston, it still doesn’t stop him from “poking the bear”.

And it seems like Dillon Brooks got the last laugh of this season. Whether there will be another face-off between the pair of them; that’s a waiting game.
