The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a devastating loss against the Golden State Warriors in their last game. Despite LeBron James’ 40-point scoring outburst, the Lakers were unable to protect their home court against Stephen Curry and Co. A major reason for the Lakers’ loss was that their superstar, Anthony Davis, left the game after playing only 12 minutes due to a left eye injury. Following the instance, AD has been listed as questionable for tonight’s Lakers vs. Hawks game.

However, Anthony Davis’ latest move provides a major boost for the Lakers amid the uncertainty. Davis was spotted doing his regular warmup and putting shots up ahead of tonight’s game, showing signs of recovery in his left eye. That is a good sign for the Lakers, hinting at AD’s return to action tonight.

Davis was diagnosed with a corneal abrasion after he got hit in his left eye by Warriors’ rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis. AD tried to play through the injury, but his left eye was swollen shut, impairing his vision. The Lakers Forward left the game after the first quarter, finishing with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. NBA Insider Shams Charania revealed earlier today that Davis has been able to regain his vision over the last 24 hours. And seeing him warm up on the court tonight gives hope to Laker Nation for a possible return.

Can Anthony Davis continue to stay available for the Lakers?

In recent years, Anthony Davis has built a reputation for being injury-prone. However, this season has been different for the 9-time All-Star. Davis is having the healthiest run of his Lakers tenure so far. He has already played in 64 games this season, his most with the Lakers. The last time AD played 60+ games for the Lakers, they ended up winning a Championship in 2020. Not only has Davis been available this year, but he has been a monster on the court. AD is averaging 24.5 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks this season.

If the Lakers want to make it to the playoffs and make a deep run, they will need Davis to stay healthy for the rest of the season. Apart from his recent eye injury, AD has also been dealing with a lingering Achilles injury for several weeks. Hopefully, Davis’ injuries will not cause him to miss games in the most crucial stretch of the season. Do you believe Anthony Davis can continue his healthiest run with the Lakers amid all the injury concerns?
