As the final quarter began for an intense stretch, Giannis Antetokounmpo drove to the basket. Anthony Davis, assuming to absorb the contact, attempted to take charge. However, he was soon grappling with intense pain and assisted by a team’s medical representative on the bench. The Los Angeles Lakers had a six-point lead at the time and managed to slip away with a 1 point win. However, the tension in the locker room now reaches new heights because of AD’s shoulder.
Anthony Davis struggled with words while talking about his fresh injury. However, Jovan Buha, senior NBA reporter for the Lakers, chimes in with AD’s statement that he sustained problems after the collision. Buha adds, Davis’ shoulder movements were restricted after the incident, with further updates slated to come tomorrow.

Moreover, citing the concerns around Davis’ left shoulder, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham doubled down on the pivotal updates slated for tomorrow.

Davis, despite the injury, was resilient to return to the court minutes later. However, he was evidently dealing with pain in the only 2 points he scored in the remaining stretch, coming from free throws. Davis ended the game playing a game-high 41 minutes, 22 points, and 13 rebounds off nearly 50% shooting.
The Lakers are already dealing with a lack of leadership with LeBron James‘ ankle issues, who sat out of the game due to severe soreness. Moreover, if Davis’ diagnosis deems him away from the court, the Lakers will be worse off than at any point in the struggling 2023 campaign. With injury issues hovering over James and Davis, they are dealing with 4 other setbacks in the roster – Christian Wood, Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Colin Castleton.

Anthony Davis made history in the game against the Bucks
During the game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Anthony Davis climbed up the ladder on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Entering the game just 8 points away from the 94th spot, Davis did not take long to edge past the Hall of Famer Kevin McHale. Davis now has 17349 points and can end the season even higher on the list. He also has better efficiency and fewer minutes than his competitors on the list.
Moreover, history was made from the Bucks roster as well. Damian Lillard, the 2023-24 NBA 3-point contest winner, cruised past Reggie Miller for the 4th position on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers list.
