Did Anthony Davis just throw shade at Steph Curry, or is it all in good fun?

Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant have some of the most iconic celebrations out of all on the USA national team. While James’ crown celebration is unique, Steph’s ‘Night Night’ celebration just got even more popular after the Olympics. As far as the Slim Reaper Kevin Durant is concerned, he has a pretty common celebration, but then again his favorite one is Jrue Holiday‘s flick of the wrist right after he drains a three.

Nevertheless, following the finals matchup against France, Curry’s ‘Night Night’ celebration came alive after two years. It first went viral when Steph and the Warriors beat Celtics in the finals back in 2022. Two years later, Curry brought back the celebration but was called out for it.

The Chef has pulled off some of the greatest playoff wins over LeBron James in the past. But ever since LBJ has been with the Lakers, Curry hasn’t had much success getting past the King’s squad. When talking about players’ celebrations, Anthony Davis took a shot at Steph. As James brought up Curry’s ‘Night Night’ celebration, Davis hilariously said, “Steph ain’t never do his celebration against us.” To which Curry replied, “Nah, I never had the pleasure yet.” LeBron couldn’t help but laugh at it, as Curry went on to mention his other celebrations.

For the most part, it’s true that Steph never had the pleasure to pull off his ‘Night Night’ celebration against James’ Lakers. To put it into perspective, ever since LeBron arrived in LA, the two have only met twice in the postseason. And one of them was in the Play-In tournament. The Dubs couldn’t withstand the Lakers in the 2021 Play-In tournament, missing their first playoffs with Steph on the roster since 2012.

They met again two years later in the Conference Semi-Finals. This time, the Warriors had the chance to eliminate the King just like they did in the finals in the past. But then again, the Lakers got the best of the Warriors, winning the series in six. Interestingly, this calls for Steph’s next achievement in his and LeBron’s friendly rivalry.

Steph Curry is yet to win against LeBron James in the West

Have an interesting take?

Stephen Curry has won three championships against the King, but he has yet to beat James and the Lakers in the West. Not to mention, Steph and the Warriors ruled the West for five consecutive seasons.

As seen in the Olympics, Steph and LeBron have a great friendship. However, as we come back to the Association, they’re not on the same team. It almost feels like waking up from a sweet dream! But as many would know, their rivalry is as interesting as their friendship. Watching them compete in the playoffs becomes just as entertaining as it was witnessing the two in the Finals.

The Warriors have a decent lineup this upcoming season. However, their chances of making the playoffs are not as favorable as they used to be. And the same goes for the Lakers. But with the assets and draft picks they possess, they might have a chance at bringing in another star player who can lead them in the playoffs.
