Anthony Davis delivered when the Lakers needed him the most. King James had an off night against his former team and scored only 22 points. After a slow first half, AD took the scoring responsibility on his shoulders and finished the game with 32 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks. The Cavaliers had no answer for AD?s second-half outburst, and they crumbled under pressure. After the game, AD revealed what motivated him to dominate in the second half, ?Na, there was nothing that was talked about. I just never liked C Wood (Christian Wood) to have more points than me.?

AD hilariously credited his teammate Christian Wood for his dominant second-half performance. Wood had more points than Davis in the first half, and AD was not pleased with that stat. Eventually, Wood finished with just 13 points, and Davis got his wish by scoring 19 more points than his teammate. AD?s response was in good humor, as he also appreciated Wood and the other Lakers role players for their impressive team performance.

The LA Lakers need this version of AD

Anthony Davis played tonight like the Lakers have wanted him to play for years. AD has been the ?Robin? to LeBron?s ?Batman? ever since he joined the Lake Show. But the Lakers would love for Davis to carry their franchise and take the responsibility off LeBron?s shoulders because of his age. AD?s monster performance tonight shows that he has the ability to dominate any opponent if he plays his best basketball. He just needs to be consistent in his performances so that the Lakers can count on him during crucial games.

The Lakers won their most recent Championship in 2020, and Anthony Davis? performance was a big reason for their success. He was healthy throughout the season and had some of the best numbers of his career. AD averaged 27.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in the 2020 playoffs, winning his first NBA Championship.
