Anthony Davis was sometimes under trade speculation, but only due to his injury troubles. However, when a trade deal finally occurred, it sent the NBA world into pandemonium. Very few took the news normally. Tyrese Haliburton and Bam Adebayo questioned whether Shams Charania’s phone was stolen or hacked. Meanwhile, Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson, and Tyrese Maxey were in disbelief.

Even Anthony Davis was not informed until the deal was finalized. After all, Lakers GM Rob Pelinka revealed during Luka Doncic’s introductory press conference that he and Mavs GM Nico Harrison committed to keeping the discussion between the team owners and the GMs. No one else was informed during the three weeks of negotiation. This is ridiculous … He’s supposed to have a statue!”. On Sunday, Mavs fans hosted a ‘funeral’ outside the American Airlines Center to honor Luka’s 7 years with the team.

Amidst the protest, people would have raised concerns about whether things would get violent in the coming days… Whether actions would be taken that threaten the safety of players and officials…
