The Los Angeles Lakers registered a much-needed victory after falling against the Dallas Mavericks at home. The team took on the Cleveland Cavaliers in an away game on Saturday night. While it was Donovan Mitchell, who took care of the offense for the Cavs, it was Anthony Davis for the Lakers, dominating the paint. The 30-year-old star dropped 32 points with 13 rebounds to take home the victory. As usual, the superstar LeBron James pitched in with crucial buckets in the later half of the game with 22 points with 6 rebounds and 6 assists.
During the first half of the game, Garland injured his neck and didn’t join the team after the break. Notably, he missed a game earlier because of a neck injury. However, the star’s absence came in handy for the Lakers, as Garland’s contribution offensively was cut down.
Following the 115-121 victory, Davis revealed how the injury helped in the post-game interview. He added, “Darius Garland didn’t play in the second half so I’m not sure what the injury was, but you know that also you know helped us.”
AD further mentioned how the team geared up defensively and contained the Cavs second half within 44 points.
