Have you circled April 9 yet? You probably should because the American Airlines Center is about to erupt. Luka Doncic is coming home, and the Lakers are facing the Mavericks again. But this is not just another game. It is personal. Luka returns to familiar grounds, and Anthony Davis suits up against Purple and Gold. Emotions will run high, and as the crowd rises, so will the stakes.

However, AD says he’s not emotional at all. He’s in zen mode, waiting to hit the floor on Wednesday. But, in all honesty, how true is this? No one is willing to buy Anthony Davis’s statement. Is he hiding his real feelings then?

“I’m not buying it. And it’s what you’re supposed to say. It’s what you should say,” Chandler Parsons bluntly responded on Run It Back. Well, for any player that goes to another team, their return to their old franchise but only as a rival must be a roller coaster of emotions. “There’s always more emotions just walking into that building, going to the opposing locker room, seeing the ushers and, you know, the staff that you’ve been seeing for years,” Parsons added.

So, it’s weird. It is bound to be weird, even if Anthony Davis tries to portray a different story. “I think once the ball goes up and he sees the ball go through the rim, obviously, then things change,” Chandler Parsons noted. It has just to be another game for the Brow, but it won’t be the case. Also, because of the magnitude of the trade that unfolded on February 2.

But most importantly, Davis wants to play well. His injuries have been menacing lately, however, he is back. He also wants to have “a little bit of extra,” going against his ex-team. So yes, Chandler Parsons, like many others, strongly believes the game in Dallas will carry a wave of emotion, proving AD’s “no emotion” claims false.

Meanwhile, Austin Reaves, who was pretty close to Anthony Davis at LA Lakers, has shared a confession. About what? Well, about the moment when he got to know that the 31-year-old power forward wouldn’t be his teammate anymore.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Anthony Davis truly zen, or is he masking a storm of emotions against the Lakers?

Austin Reaves was in disbelief after hearing about Anthony Davis’ trade

On that fateful day in February, Anthony Davis and Luka Doncic weren’t the only players taking the shockwaves of Jeanie Buss, Rob Pelinka, Nico Harrison, and Patrick Dumont’s decision. Their teammates also took the shock because what else could they do? Now, Austin Reaves has opened up about his first reaction to AD’s trade news. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin shared on X that the Lakers’ bus was in Manhattan’s traffic when AR pulled out his phone to scroll through Instagram.

He read Shams Charania’s tweet and did a double take—AD and Luka traded, and Max Christie caught in the chaos? “First thing, I was like, ‘Oh this is [false],” Reaves expressed. “He got hacked.”Austin quickly suspected a hack—and he wasn’t the only one. Shams Charania’s tweet looked more like a prank than breaking news. Besides, it wasn’t even April 1!

But in no time, Austin Reaves’s phone began to flood with incoming texts. “The group message started going crazy,” he recalled. “AD, texting the [team] group message was like, ‘They traded me.’ And I was like, ‘OK, AD is bulls——- with us.’ He’s a kid at heart, had his fun. He literally has a prank TV show. I thought it was one of those.”
