Is LeBron James sacrificing too much family time for his NBA legacy?

Does LeBron James have an aura? Before finding it out, we must accept that we’re at a peculiar juncture in the NBA world. Earlier in the league, we’ve witnessed plenty of second-generation hoopers. Now, it’s safe to say we’re witnessing another wave, with the likes of Scotty Pippen Jr. and Bronny James. There is another rising star who is yet to lace up, Kiyan Anthony. However, the important aspect to note about the youngster is his latest statement about the 4x champ’s aura, but also spills out harsh reality!

Kiyan, son of the NBA legend, Carmelo Anthony, has spent a lot of his childhood around celebrities and doesn’t really get star-struck anymore. To set context in his latest appearance on Angel Reese’s pod, Unapologetically Angel, Melo’s son spoke about meeting Barack Obama at the White House and Rapper Jay Z visiting him after he broke his leg. However, a stunning revelation followed.

Angel Reese then asked Kiyan Anthony whether he doesn’t get star-struck by anyone, and he replied, “Even when I be seeing LeBron, I still be like, ‘That’s Bron’.” Notably, Melo has been King James’ close buddy for a long time, and Anthony Jr. has also developed a friendly rapport with the 22-season veteran’s son, Bryce.

Surprised by Kiyan’s response, Reese asked, “Really… But you be hanging with Bryce and… He don’t be around?” This is where we get a closer look at LeBron James, as a dad. Anthony continued, “He don’t really be around but at the games, after. Him just coming up, like aura is real. Some people just got aura.” Even though he admired the superstar’s aura, Melo’s son also revealed how the Akron Hammer couldn’t really give his 100% attendance, because of his NBA commitments. This takes us back to the historic night!

LeBron James gets emotional, speaking of his fatherhood’s “greatest gift”

“A lighthouse does not shine for itself.” This old saying could aptly sit well on LeBron James’ professional career. The Laker has given everything to the sport that he loves the most, entertaining fans across the globe. But what did he sacrifice? His time with family. And he wasn’t shying away from accepting the truth. Poetically, James became equally happy as if he got his time back after Bronny made his pro debut. He got the rare opportunity to go to work with his son, becoming the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA.

Following the historic game, LeBron James made an emotional confession. King James said, “It’s always been family over everything… For me, I lost a lot of time because of this league, committing to this league, being on the road on times, missing a lot of [Bronny’s] things, Bryce’s things, Zhuri’s things. So, to be able to have this moment where I’m working still and I can work alongside my son—it’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever got from the man above. I’m going to take full advantage of it.”
