The Los Angeles Lakers beat the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden tonight. This game tends to be a star-studded affair given the teams involved and the hallowed grounds of MSG. You can always spot a few celebrities sitting courtside, taking in the electric atmosphere. And tonight was no exception, although something unusual happened involving a celebrity or should we say LeBron James’ former co-star?

Well, the celebrity in question was none other than controversial comedian and New York native Amy Schumer. She and her husband, Chris Fischer, have often been spotted together at Knicks in the past. However, not even he could have expected what Schumer would do during a timeout in tonight’s game.

As the Knicks City Dancers took to the court during a timeout, they quickly went over to Schumer to have her join them. Even though she acted taken aback at first, it was clear what was up. The KCD, along with Schumer, recreated the iconic scene from the climax of the movie, Trainwreck.

You know, the one starring LeBron James. In it, Schumer’s character joins the KCD to dance to “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel to fix her relationship with Bill Hader’s character.

And we have to say, the group nailed it. LeBron must’ve enjoyed the callback to the movie. Moreover, it’s just nice to see Schumer up and about, doing what she enjoys. After all, fans were concerned for her after some major health scares.

Quite recently, on the Howard Stern show, Amy revealed her terrifying experience with the popular weight loss drug, Ozempic. So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago and I was like bedridden. I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great and I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow, so what’s the point?” she questioned rhetorically.

What’s your perspective on:

Did Amy Schumer's dance steal the show, or was LeBron's triple-double the real highlight?

However, we agree with her point. It’s never a good idea to put health before aesthetics. Speaking of health, Knicks fans will be worried about the health of one of their players who walked off injured tonight. So let’s see what happened on the court tonight aside from Schumer’s performance.

Los Angeles Lakers beat the New York Knicks 128-112

The game tonight started with LeBron James scoring the first basket. No surprises there. And the first quarter was what you’d expect from a typical game between the Lakers and the Knicks. Intense and closely contested. OG Anunoby would level the score at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter saw more of the same as both teams battled to gain an edge. One side would gain the lead and the other would equalize immediately. This went on for a while until Max Christie hit a layup to make the score 59-54 heading into the third quarter.

However, this was when disaster struck for the New York Knicks. OG Anunoby missed the rest of the game after walking off because of a sprained right ankle suffered early in the third quarter. But the tide of the game didn’t shift right then as the third quarter ended with only two points separating the teams at 89-91.

However, the Lakers would begin to run away with the game in the fourth quarter. Even Bronny James put up points on the board after being subbed in for Max Christie. His father ended the game with a triple-double, registering 33 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists.
