Oppenheimer has taken the world by storm. Its waves have touched stars like Stephen Curry and Tom Brady and continued spreading post its release. While some have debated the Christopher Nolan release with Barbie, others are dwelling on the surrounding fables. Released right after The Dark Knight’s 15th anniversary, fans speculate plausible theories around it. Was it a coincidence or part of the plan since day 1? It has forced Nolan fans to decipher if there are any commonalities between the two.
Another NBA star that recognizes this minuscule detail is Gary Payton II. Often known for villian’esque moves on the court himself, his recent post nostalgically sheds light on the deceased actor from the classic Nolan movie.

Christopher Nolan is believed to be the best director in the world by fans and cinema buffs alike. Moreover, people believe Heath Ledger to be the best actor to ever bestow his presence in a Nolan film.
Julius Robert Oppenheimer (father of the atomic bomb) shares similarities with Joker’s complexities. The devastating bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki haunted Oppenheimer; just as the Joker’s chaotic actions haunt Gotham City. Both felt the weight of their actions, causing inner turmoil. Oppenheimer’s role in creating the bomb led him to oppose further destructive developments, similar to the Joker’s stand as an agent of chaos. Despite their different paths, they both faced the consequences of their choices, reflecting the duality of human nature.
While Payton reposting the picture might not suggest something meta, the similarities are still thought-provoking. Payton might just be sharing his take on the trending Barbie vs. Oppenheimer debate, siding with Nolan’s new masterpiece.

Throughout the Warriors’ 2021-22 NBA championship run, Payton served as their defensive catalyst off the bench. Last summer, the Warriors prioritized re-signing Kevon Looney over Payton due to luxury-tax bill complications.
With that, Payton signed a three-year contract with the Blazers. During the time, DiVincenzo joined the Golden State Warriors on a two-year deal player option for 2023-24, and he chose not to exercise the free agency. He wore No. 0, the same as the one Payton wore. When Payton returned to the Warriors in February via an NBA trade, he has to wear No. 8.
Recently, the Warriors fan favorite confirmed that he would reclaim his old jersey now that it is available. This decision came after Donte DiVincenzo signed a four-year, $50 million contract with the New York Knicks in free agency to recreate a Wildcats trio. With Payton reclaiming his #0 jersey, he is set to wear it in the upcoming season. Additionally, the Warriors have undergone more changes in their roster, like veteran additions of Chris Paul and Dario ?ari?.
