The 4x All-Star Donovan Mitchell is having a great season so far. By giving some exceptional performances, he is aiding the City of Light to glory. The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking very strong this season, particularly because of the exceptional performance displayed by Donovan Mitchell. In 25 appearances this season, he has averaged 27.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. Not only that, the 27-year-old also had a season-high +22 plus/minus, six rebounds, four assists, and a steal. With his performances, he is showing his allegiance to the Cavs and showing no signs of swaying away toward the Knicks. He even took to social media to show loyalty toward his franchise.

The New York Knicks, on the other hand, acquired OG Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn in exchange for two of their star players RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley. So, it is certain that they are undergoing an entire roster update. And, to make their team even stronger, they were looking to bring in the 4x All-Star Donovan Mitchell. However, according to NBA Insider Marc Stein, the Cavaliers have already signaled to their rival teams that they do not want to trade Mitchell and will not “entertain Mitchell overtures anyway.”
So, the chances of acquiring Mitchell look very slim for the Big Apple. However, with assets like Quentin Grimes and Mitchell Robinson, you never know what the future holds for them. As of now, the Cavs are gearing up to face the Lone Star State and increase their two-game winning streak.
