Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard has been the talk of the town following his trade request. After spending 11 seasons with the team, he expressed his desire to head out in pursuit of winning his first NBA title. Since his trade request, there has been much speculation about what Miami will offer the Trail Blazers to acquire the 7-time All-Star. Damian’s alter ego, popularly known as Dame D.O.L.L.A, on the other hand, does not seem bothered by the uncertainties and rumors.

In fact, Dame is all set to release his fifth music album, Don D.O.L.L.A, which drops on August 17. Dame hosted a huge release party on Sunday, which was attended by his $100 million-worth teammate, Anfernee Simons.

Apart from Dame, famous artists such as Bow Wow, Mistah F.A.B., and Kenny Brooks performed live on stage, working the crowd into a frenzy. Dame?s 15-track project will be the 5th album of his music career, and it promises to have the most star power yet. It will reportedly feature Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, among others. While announcing the special guest (the Atlanta rapper) at the release party, Dame posted,

?Salute to Shad Moss for committing to come out to Portland for my album release party on Sunday at Roseland Theater.? This set the stage for the event as Shad was quick to reach the comments section with a “My f*kn dawg! Its up!

Lillard?s Portland teammate, young guard Anfernee Simons, also attended the party to show support for his vet and shared a video of Dame D.O.L.L.A performing live. While Dame wants to part ways with Portland, Simons signed a 4-year $100 million deal with the Trail Blazers in 2022 after showing huge potential throughout the season. He averaged over 21 points and 4 assists last season, proving to be a key piece in the team?s future.

Lillard has, meanwhile, made it clear that he wants to leave Portland and join forces with Jimmy Butler and others in Miami. The Heat, who lost the NBA Finals this year now might be only one keypiece away from a prospective championship. Despite many making the inevitable connection between Dame and Butler as the force behind the former’s move, there is more than what meets the eye.

While it will solidify both Dame and Butler?s legacies, it is only logical to think along the lines of the two having accomplished pretty much everything other than holding the Larry O’Brien Trophy in their careers. But Butler isn’t the only reason why Lillard has his sights set on South Beach.

Dame wants to take his talents to South Beach

According to Sports Illustrated, Dame met and ‘bonded’ with Bam Adebayo of the Heat at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020, and the two reportedly remain close. Tim Reynolds of?Associated Press?believes that this is one of the many not-too-well-known reasons behind D.O.L.L.A.’s insistence on Miami.

Portland will also look to get the best package in exchange for their franchise player as their rebuild looks inevitable. They picked point guard Scoot Henderson at this year?s NBA Draft and have high expectations from the young star. With amazing talent and unlimited potential, Scoot might become the next star Portland builds around.

Meanwhile, Anfernee Simons will also look to elevate his game as the new young core will have more weight on their shoulders if Dame parts ways with the team. There’s time for all that to happen as the season is set to start in two months. Meanwhile, NBA fans can enjoy Dame D.O.L.L.A.?s new album which releases later this week.
