The European soccer world experienced an unprecedented shock recently. French phenom, Kylian Mbappe made it clear that he will not sign a deal with Paris Saint Germain ending a 6-year relationship. After the historic move of Lionel Messi earlier this year, Mbappe’s exit could leave Neymar Jr. stranded at PSG. However, he seems to be getting some support from an NBA superstar.

Neymar Jr has been in the news for various reasons lately. However, his interactions with the basketball world have caught the attention of several fans. Whether it is reacting to LeBron James’ interaction with Lionel Messi or naming his all-time favorite NBA players list, Neymar Jr. has made himself a popular name in the basketball world too. Although, he shares a special bond with one particular NBA superstar.

Neymar Jr. receives support from a former NBA All-Star

Neymar Jr. has had many interactions with the basketball world. However, his closest interactions have been with the Miami Heat forward, Jimmy Butler. The two have become great friends over the years, often seen sharing moments on and off the basketball court.

Jimmy Butler had an unbelievable playoff run in 2023. The Miami Heat, on the back of Jimmy Butler, stormed into the NBA Finals as the second eight-seeded team to do so. Butler also won the Eastern Conference Finals MVP award for his extraordinary efforts to carry his team to the Finals. However, while Butler was fighting it out on the basketball court, Neymar Jr. sat courtside to support his close friend.

The two shared several moments together over the years, also watching each other’s games on multiple occasions. They were also famously seen singing karaoke together, much to the fans’ amusement. Similarly, when Neymar Jr. returned from injury to practice for PSG, Butler had to show some love to his friend.

Butler took to Instagram to re-share a post from PSG’s official handle on his story. He tagged Neymar Jr. on the story to support his friend.

Butler showed his love and support for his friend, Neymar Jr. However, the Brazilian striker might need a lot more of that support if Mbappe chooses to leave the club.

The Brazilian striker and Butler may need each other soon

Mbappe made headlines after his decision not to sign with Paris Saint-Germain. The prestigious club was home to Mbappe and Neymar Jr. for several years. After the club signed the legendary Lionel Messi, they seemed invincible. However, they did not enjoy the kind of success they had hoped for.

Lionel Messi left the club to join Inter Miami in the MLS. With rumors about Kylian Mbappe following precedent, Neymar Jr. may potentially be stranded in Paris. In this situation, Neymar Jr. may need his friend Jimmy Butler’s support a lot more.

Butler too, will need the support of Neymar as he prepares for yet another long NBA season. However, while Neymar Jr. may be worried about a teammate leaving, Butler may be excited about the arrival of an NBA superstar. With 7-time All-Star, Damian Lillard requesting out of Portland, all signs point towards him joining the Miami Heat.

In this uncertain situation, the two friends may need each other’s support through the situation. Mbappe’s situation in PSG is definitely not certain after his decision to not re-sign. His next destination is unknown, as nothing has been made official yet. Butler, too, would be eager to find out if Lillard would join him or not for the challenging 2023-24 NBA season.
