Real Madrid has constantly been linked to signing French phenom, Kylian Mbappe to their prestigious club. Real Madrid was considered the next destination for the World Cup, right after Mbappe said he’s not signing the Paris Saint-Germain deal. Amid the rumors surrounding Mbappe’s arrival to the Bernabéu, things took an interesting turn recently.

Golden State Warriors forward, Jonathan Kuminga signed a one-day contract with the club, much to the fans’ amusement. He also showcased some skills that were highly impressive.

Jonathan Kuminga leaves Cristiano Ronaldo behind

Jonathan Kuminga has had a terrific NBA career so far. The 20-year-old has already won an NBA championship with the Warriors. After signing a massive $24.9M rookie deal, the former 7th overall pick has also seen an increase in all statistical categories in just his second season. However, after a tough loss in the Western Conference Semifinals last season, Kuminga has been putting in the work during the offseason. His efforts, however, haven’t stopped on the basketball court.

Kuminga partnered with Abbott to sign a one-day contract with the prestigious club, Real Madrid. On his day as a Real Madrid player, he was seen doing several soccer drills, also testing out his athleticism.

Taking to Instagram stories, Kuminga shared a video of him heading a ball placed 10 feet high. Interestingly, Kuminga’s leap shattered a record set by the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo scored a header in a Champions League encounter that was measured to be approximately 9.6 feet high. This incredible leap holds the record for the highest jump in the sport’s history. However, by jumping a height of 10 feet, Kuminga surpassed CR7’s record.

‘The Kum Bucket’ showed his bounce on the one day that he was a Real Madrid player. But the 20-year-old forward did not stop there.

The Warriors forward shows Real Madrid he can score too

Real Madrid has been in the news for a specific reason lately. Rumors surrounding a deal with the 24-year-old French national, Kylian Mbappe surfaced many times, but nothing is official yet. Mbappe may not have signed a deal with the cub yet, but their new one-day signing, Jonathan Kuminga seems to have some impressive skills.

After leaping higher than the Portuguese striker, Kuminga was also seen scoring goals in the Los Angeles training facility. Kuminga put on his cleats and the Real Madrid uniform and kicked the ball around for Abbott. After a fun day with the club, Kuminga ended the day with some photoshoots.
