The Philadelphia 76ers fanbase is in for a long ride as their team prepares for the NBA season. After all, the team has been the talk of the NBA off-season so far. The futures of both reigning MVP Joel Embiid and 2018 MVP James Harden are in the air. In fact, Harden has made some explosive comments against the 76ers president in China, which could play a huge role in his potential exit after just one and a half seasons.
Amid all such inner turmoil, Embiid has been keeping a close eye on the ongoing English Premier League which saw its opening weekend of matches a few days ago. The Cameroonian also took to Twitter to make a controversial claim about Manchester United.

29-year-old Embiid is a huge fan of soccer and the Premier League, in particular. Popular media house Sky Sports replaced long-time commentator Martin Tyler with fan favorite Peter Drury to commentate league matches.
While there have been mixed reactions regarding this decision, it looks like Embiid loves it. Taking to Twitter, he called the 55-year-old a ‘treasure’.
This was not all. The 6-time NBA All-Star also gave his thoughts on the recently concluded match between Manchester United and Wolves. In the dying moments of the game, the United goalkeeper controversially connected with a Wolves player which had the arena chanting for a penalty.

However, there was no penalty despite a check by the video assistant referee or VAR. This subsequently led to Wolves losing the game 1-0. Embiid believes that should have been a penalty. “Peter Drury, you are a treasure Sir!!! “VAR”ane… Should’ve been a pen btw”, wrote The Process on Twitter.
Embiid is right. Following the match, the Wolves coach has come out and confirmed the referee apologized for not spotting the ‘blatant penalty’ according to TalkSport.

The 76ers fanbase has gone through a lot in the past few months. Embiid made some concerning comments about his future during a documentary launch. And, now, Harden has come out openly against the 76ers’ president, Daryl Morey.
During an Adidas trip to China, the 10-time NBA All-Star called Morey a ‘liar’. This comes just days after reports revealed that the Sixers have sidelined trade talks for the former MVP for now. Over the past few weeks, Harden has openly talked about his aspirations to play for the Los Angeles Clippers. However, the two camps are yet to reach an agreement.
